Check this out. This is where they post speed-limit violators on Commonwealth Ave. 70kph ang lowest na nahuli, so 60-70kph ang "allowance" nila? Also says there, Loc: TECHNONUB FTBRDGE CMNWLTH e tuwing nadadaan ako dun minsan wala naman nanghuhuli.

Suki yung blue FD, 128kph and 100kph sa Technohub. 2 beses nahuli magkaibang dates. :hysterical:

Fixed kaya ?

Lintek ang tindi nung FD. 128kph sa Commonwealth !

Teka, wala bang speed limit sa C5/Libis ? ...

SCTEX use hand held speedradar guns. They change locations often.

My old technique is to visually scan the horizon for a solo parked white pickup or AUV on the side of the road. If any is spotted, slow down to "legal" speeds.

But sometimes they are positioned after a blind rise on the road and they catch you when you crest over at speed. Solution is to slow down before cresting the top of the rise.

Those two techniques helped me avoid getting caught before I got my redar detector.

The radar/laser speedguns on Commonwealth are positioned on the pedestrian overpasses and only there, hence the "looking down" shot of the pictures.

This was pretty much known from the initial launch of the speedlimit on Commonwealth. You can see the location (pedestrian overpass) when the speedgun operators were interviewed on TV.

. .stick to 80 kph (2000 rpm) na lang ako since nagtaas ang gas price. . .

last weekend was one instance--batong-bato ako sa driving speed ko sa slex that i honked at myself

Last Saturday, marami-rami din ang nahuli sa NLEX and SCTEX. At the NLEX toll gate, where the vehicles were bunched up, meron mga officers with notepads looking at the cars, yung iba going between cars pa. We saw a Strada and City accosted by officers and handed tickets. We remember that City because it overtook us while we were running between 90-100 kph, and it was a really fast overtake.

At SCTEX, we saw another Strada being ticketed also. Looks like super busy ang tollway police that day.

what band are the local enforcement using dito sa pinas? i am deciding on which to get - Escort 9500ix or Bel RX65. the bad news kapag laser hand held gamit ng pulis, the time you get notified by your radar detector is when the police already zapped and got your speed. yes, the radar detector detects the laser... but only when the authorities are done zapping your car.

Guys can you confirm this observation.... No radar from Manila going up North along the NLEX, but very strict going back and the ticket will be waiting for you at bocaue toll.

From experience, there is more speedlimit enforcement on the southbound side of the NLEX. But there is occasional speedlimit as well on the northbound.

On the southbound side of NLEX, the radar van more often hides within the last two tollgates before Bocaue Toll Plaza.

On the nothbound side and planning to exit at DAU exit, if you are positive that you were tagged, exit at Angeles (the one before DAU).

    hi everyone!

    I have some questions sana..

san ba ako makakakuha ng traffic rules info sa NLEX, like speed limit, san ako pede magstay na lane lalo na if medyo mabagal at kabado sa expressway, ano ba minimum na speed limit sa NLEX?

we plan kasi na magpunta sa subic this weekend, and this is my very first time to use expressway, nadadaan ako sa C5 pero till 40-50kph lang speed ko.. 1 month pa lang ako sa driving kaya medyo kakaba kaba pa. hehehe..

your input is very much appreciated.

speed limit? you can follow the speed limit signs along the express way.
where to stay if medyo mabagal? sa right outer most lane. don't hug the passing lane.

I travel through NLEX at least twice a month. Maybe due to the schedule I follow, which is northbound in the morning and southbound in the evening, here are my own observations:

I see quite a lot of apprehensions upon reaching the Dau toll gate; in fact, last Saturday, I saw a white Pajero and two other cars apprehended, the Pajero defintely for overspeeding as it overtook me while I was winding down from 120 kph after doing my own overtaking and returning back to the usual lane. This was around 10am.

The tollway patrol are quite active in the northern exit, with a few officers actively seeking out violators while cars are lined up to pay at the toll gate.

It's rare for me to see apprehensions on the southbound tollway exit, maybe two or three in total the past five times I passed. Maybe it's because I usually reach it between 9-10pm.

I've been hitting 110-115 kph on the non overtaking lanes, but I don't sustain it for long times. What happens is that the speed creeps over long distances, so I dial it down regularly. Even with a patrol car alongside me while I'm above 100 kph, no apprehensions on my part. I think apprehensions are in order for those who blatantly overspeed for sustained periods of time, i.e. 130 kph and above.

Was on NLEX-SCTEX yesterday and there were apprehensions on the NLEX north bound and SCTEX Tarlac side. We just kept the car below 120kph whenever we were near a blind area and any overpasses/exits and boom, there was a patrol car hidden (galing, i didnt see him until we passed him). The Prado that blasted past us was stopped at the Luisita exit.

if you want to go faster than the speed limit then rent a track and pakasawa kayo doon.
