*lakay: ah... that explains it. Sorry for being so confrontational. And after reading my first post again, I can understand how it would affect you. My apologies, for, as I said, that was not my intent.

I believe so. I think radar guns are more accurate if taking a reading from an incoming vehicle. Taking a radar reading from a vehicle that has passed already introduces a larger degree of error, I think, and can be contested quite readily in the US.

    experience talking here?
Haha... nope. Not yet. But seriously, I usually drive conservatively during rush hour (that's how I can get 14 km/l on the NLEX), and I always stop for lunch at a gas station along NLEX while driving, to let the car (and driver) cool down.

I used to be evil, but I try to be good nowadays. "Spirited" driving is for deserted stretches of road and racetracks only.

afaik, none yet. but i think after they completed the renovation (with the accompanying toll fee increase), radars will be implemented.

Niky, no harm done. Radar gun is fairly accurate up to almost 300 ft (100 meters) as long as your within the cone. You can always contest that because it locks on bigger object which if you are beside an SUV and your driving a car, the radar with X and K band lock on the SUV. But the Laser one is accurate to almost 1000 Ft. and aim it like a gun sight. The new even get a digital photograph with a red dot on the target vehicle and information about the speed of that vehicle with date and time.

niky, you don't need to stay overnight at a gas station to avoid being apprehended for speeding, just an hour or 2 will do.

lakas ng loob sir a. well, hope you get jailed next time you get caught overspeeding(at 150kph+ pa ha), lalo na without a license. para naman safe ang ibang motorista from you.

seriously, magbago ka na sir, member pa naman tayo ng tsikot.com.

if you put it that way, the choice is clear, kumbaga an hour or two? aba, di hamak na nakalabas na ko ng NLEX nyan before that timeframe pag susunod ako sa 100kph na speed limit.

    just an observation.... :peace:

    A good observation, resmile.

may tropa akong enforcer sa NLEX. putek, if you think you can get away with them, think again. linchak sa training ang mga yan. imagine going through an obstacle course * 70 kph na paatras!

another thing is, yung mga motorsiklo, papasemplangin mo * 70 kph din.

plus, you can't bribe them. laki nang mga sweldo nyan. katwiran nila: ayun naman pala e, may pantubos ka naman e. tubusin mo na lang sa LTO. eto ang tiket mo."

I guess some motorists still don't get it. "Bragging" about their speeding on public roads will never merit sympathy or awe from other responsible motorists

I agree: if they catch overspeeders, they should catch underspeeders also. That is what irritates me most about driving here. They have the right lane for these vehicles and it is also a discipline/etiquette for these drivers.

I travel on SLEX almost everyday. If the shoulder is for "emergency" purposes only, then the PNCC should "practice what you preach." No one should be traveling in the shoulder lane period. Traveling at super slow speeds is not safe for other drivers who try to merge into faster lanes. In turn, they give reason for drivers to use the shoulder to overtake. Another type of enforcement that should be implemented is catching smoke beltchers.

RE: NLEX Enforcers... kung ganyan ang training, I'd like to apply... ...now if only the SLEX Enforcers would receive the same orientation... argh... driving in the Emergency lane at 20-30 km/h... counterflowing (I've seen a few motorcycle patrols do this)...ekh.

At least they do catch people besides the odd shoulder-lover... at night they stop trucks with defective lights. ...and to be fair, most of them don't attempt to mulch you, either

Siguro, with the current upgrading and new toll rates, they'll be able to afford better vehicles and training for SLEX enforcers.

They should have a paintball gun on it, too, to mark the target... ...makes you wonder, though, what radar the Philippine enforcers are using?

and taking a spill at 70 kph on a bike? man that is fatal! kahit na full gears ka eh may chance pa rin na mamatay ka dun... I dont think that their salary is enough to partake a training like that....

    Tell me about it.

I was last in a long line of cars one night on the SLEX, trundling along between 60-80 km/h (minimum speed limit is 60, mind you). I usually give two to three cars distance between myself and the car in front. Since the car in front of me was a truck, I gave three or more, as I couldn't see around him.

This idiot comes out of the Susana Heights exit, and, without checking, merges into our lane at 30 km/h.

I think I saw the truck skitter sideways a bit... scary sh*t.

In the meantime, this guy, completely clueless to the carnage behind him, proceeds to trundle along at 40 km/h... I'm sure a lot of us wanted to kill him at about that time.
