I have ridden in an Urvan Escapade, Estate and have ridden in all variants of the D4D Hiace, I own a SG myself, I have ridden in the old Hiace, pre 2005 model, mas mabilis talaga mag accelerate ang Hiace based on how I felt.

Other than that, wala. Unless the owner modified the engine.

Just bury the gas pedal, talagang sumisibat.

My SG has clocked almost 5,200 kms after almost 4 months. I had the 5k PMS already and it only cost me just a little below 1,800 pesos. They only changed the oil and oil filter and the rest was inspection. Grabe ang mura! I didn't shell out any cash since I have a prepaid coupon that I availed before.

Looking forward to the 10k PMS price pero matagal pa siguro un. What I need are those freaking plates! Wala pa din as per my SA.

I was running around 120 kph sa Skyway, dinaanan lang ako ng naghahabulan na Commuter and old Hiace. I tried to catch up just to see kung ano ang speed nila, nahabol ko ung old, 140 kph pero ung Commuter hindi ko maabutan, ang bilis! After that balik na ulit sa 100 kph. Mahirap na baka madisgrasya. For an old van, probably more than 10 years old na un, public vehicle pa, just imagine that.

Ang ayoko lang is sa expressway pag may crosswind (hindi ung Crosswind na vehicle), due to its height and size, the wind can make it veer to the shoulder kaya dapat hawakan ng maigi ung steering wheel and you really need to reduce speed. Sa 100 kph hindi ko ramdam.

I agree here. The looks is an acquired taste and i myself like this over the looks of the Grand Starex; i personally think the Hiace design will age better.

On the performance side, i don't as give much attention because these vans are not supposed to be raced hard as if they were sedans so i find it crazy why people love to compare the power and speed of the Hiace, and others diss it as being underpowered daw. Yes i can feel it need more power when i load it up and the weather is hot and definitely it won't hold against a Starex VGT in a straight line but it gets the job done and i don't have much issue on power in majority of our roads.

Yeah bro, I agree. While the SG will probably not be able to go head to head with a GS north of 120 kph siguro, what does it matter? I think Toyota worked the SG to the PH specs - wherein vans are going to be stuck in a lot of traffic anyway, plus if ever they're fully loaded, low end grunt would be more important.

If I am the one driving it and we are full load, I drive it mellow coz comfort of my passengers is my priority. Ang sarap makita na natutulog sila peacefully & very relaxed and not the other way around. Ayoko din na hinaharabas ang pag drive pag passenger ako so I do the same.

So far my SG hasn't failed me most especially on an uphill terrain even at full load. Naakyat naman niya. Put it on 3 then press the gas pedal harder, aakyatin naman niya ung road ng walang problem. Tina try ko din if it will slightly move back on an incline road, hindi naman. Pag full pax, it stays, if I am alone it moves forward.

In a straight road and I wanna exercise the engine a bit, my observation is after 120 kph, that's where I feel the 102 hp & 260 Nm of torque engine specs since it can still go to 145 kph but I don't feel that much grunt anymore as compared to 0 to 120 kph. I only stay within the 100 to 120 kph when I am driving the van anyway so it's not really an issue.

Ang difference lang ng Hiace D4D is it can stand its ground sa takbuhan.

The Grandia (At least our GL Grandia m/t) also gives good FC. City driving of 9-10+ and highway of around 11-14 (depending on load and road). On performance, as long as the low to mid range is good and you can comfortably run at 100-120kph on the highway with minimal fuel consumption penalty then i'm happy.

Hello. New owner of a used but pristine 2007 2 tone SG here. Browsed all 119 pages and couldn't find a mention regarding cracking/peeling of the gold paint at the bottom part of the sliding doors. At first I assumed it is because it may have undergone repainting by the previous owner but since both sides of the car exhibit same cracking/peeling and the rest of the vehicle has never been repainted, I now wonder if this part was repainted or not. Now my question is, is peeling gold paint "normal" for a 7 year old SG? Does Toyota Japan do the gold part painting or is it just done by Toyota here in the Philippines?

If you want you can peel lahat ng sticker then pa repaint na lang yung sa may gold Part.

*Jason Tan: I also have an SG leather but the monotone variant. I think for a 7 yr old vehicle, normal lang na mag peel yang gold part kung sticker lang siya. It is exposed to different elements kaya talagang magpi peel off yan pag tumagal. Even the paint itself, the color gets faded depending on how you took care of it when the vehicle gets older.

I think the 2 tone is done by TMPH. Even the alarm, backup sensors, dito na ata yan galing and ini install.

For all those times, I thought it was paint. So yan ung 15k na additional when you buy the 2 tone.

*victorioarvin: Doon sa niri rent ng neighbor namin whenever they go out of town as a family, ang pag factor daw niya ng price is based on the city or province na pupuntahan. Meron din daw siyang price for whole, half day, etc. That is exclusive of gas, toll and other fees. Ung uncle ko, pag walang makaka paghatid sa kanya sa airport, he pays 2k daw from QC to the airport. Urvan ata ung pinanghahatid sa kanya.

Kaya if I were you, mag search ka sa net ng mga nagpapa rent just to have an idea kung magkano ang charge diyan sa mga places na nabanggit mo. And make sure na same or at least the same model ng vehicle na bibilhin mo ang price ng rent na isi search mo. Like in your case, GL Grandia ang gusto mong iparent and presyong pang Urvan ung ipa price mo, baka lugi ka.

For a 7 year old vehicle, the one I got was really well taken care of. Still factory paint all around with the paint still having that factory paint "grain" (or whatever that is called). The only eyesore is really the peeling gold sticker on the doors. I will have that part repainted soon.

Another question, regarding the two overhead a/c intake grille with the filter, I removed it to clean the mesh filter. It needed a bit of force to remove and all plastic locks went popping. Had to improvise with 3M moulding tape to make it flushed when I reinstalled it. What would have been the proper way of removing it without breaking the lock clips other than probably removing the whole ceiling?

ewan ko lang sir kung pareho sila ng design pero sa 2014 kasi tulak mo lang yung grill nya mag popup na cxa, alisin mo nalang grill to access filter.. hope it helps
