Toyota Hiace Commuter/GL Grandia/Super Grandia Owners & Discussions Thread [Merged]

hi guys, pls help me on this.
i have a grandia commuter purchased last year, may actually. i have done the PMS at toyota 3x already and actually hindi ako satisfied kasi i have this feeling na hindi naman talaga nagagawa yung mga binayaran ko, to the fact na hindi ko naman nakikita kung ano talaga ginagawa nila. plus i always hear this story na hindi naman talaga pinapalitan yung ibang parts like filter or oil though binayaran ko naman. so i was planning na this coming next PMS outside casa ko nalang ipagawa. which i also know na pedeng ma void yung sinasabi ng toyota na 3 year warranty on the engine. may experience na ba kayo na nagkaroon ng major engine problem yung hiace nyo within the warranty period? and tama ba sa palagay nyo yung balak ko? TIA...

*attorney: After 320+ kms of observation, I don't find the tires noisy at all regardless of the speed but max speed was 110ish only.

*crosswind: Sa 2014 SG leather ko, sir, Bridgestone Dueler AT 225/70/R15 ang nakalagay.

*acgq: That's for sure. Sisiw lang yang karga niyo, sir, sa bundok using the Commuter.

I can't imagine if they slap a 3.0 engine in the Hiace, mas grabe pa siguro ang performance, pero mas grabe din ang mahal.hehe

*ace_cedrick: Ganyan talaga yan, sir, either bite the bullet and have the service done outside or bring it to the dealership. Taga talaga sila and you're right, ung ibang job description diyan hindi naman talaga ginagawa. Worse is possible na nakawin ung mga parts ng vehicle mo.

If I were you, pagtiyagaan ko nalang muna tutal 3 yrs lang naman yan. Hindi mo din kasi alam ang pwedeng mangyari, at least when you have it done at the dealership, may habol ka sa kanila when you claim warranty. Un lang madami din parts ang hindi naman covered ng warranty.

Pero kung confident ka naman na walang magiging problema ang Hiace mo, just have it serviced outside or kahit ung change oil lang para mas maka tipid ng konti. Bilhin mo nalang ung oil na closest to what it says in the manual. Sa dami ng Hiace ngayon, 2005 pa yan na released, wala pa naman tayong naririnig na naging major problems ng Hiace. And tignan mo nalang ang dami ng Hiace from north to south of the country, PUV & private, for sure napakarami na ang marunong mag ayos niyan.

Where do you go for service? Go to a Toyota with a service bay that is accessible to the owners (i.e. Toyota North EDSA, Toyota Shaw, etc.). I used to go to those dealers for the first year or so (30,000kms) before i went back to my suking tindahan for service.

More hp and torque please! Turbo CRDI 2.5 only producing 102 hp 260 Nm? Is this engine carbureted? Mas malakas nga ang 1.6 ng Accent hatch eh.

Sige nga magsakay ka nga ng 15 na adult sa 1.6 Accent hatch tapos akyat ka ng Tagaytay. Kapag nakababa ka ng Santa Rosa ng buhay, magiging BITTER na rin ako sa 2.5 D4-D.

That's exactly what I was thinking, sir crave.hehe Kahit 9 pax nalang at wag na 15.hehe Yan lang 1.6 ang lagi niyang ipinagmamalaki.

Pag naglabas ang TMPI ng 3.0 na Hiace SG and umabot ng mga 2.1+M but the hp is only around 130+ and torque is around in the 300 range, reklamo nanaman siya panigurado and sasabihin naman niya, "xxx hp and xxx torque lang. Kung gagastos ako ng more than 2M, doon nalang ako sa (brand name). Mas malakas pa ung 1.6 ni (brand name)." Paulit ulit lang.

Reklamo ng reklamo, hindi naman ata bibili.

Kaysa sa ikaw inaaway namin, bakit di na lang kami pagawayin mo.... suggestion lang naman para di ka maubusan ng gagawin dito sa forum. Mukang nageenjoy ka e.

Maiba lang ako. Puede kaya lagyan ng blow off valve ang turbo nito o kaya maglagay ng mas malaking turbo....hmmm

Turbo ng D4d? Best mods would be to upgrade the downpipe, add an intercooler, and upgrade with a chip.
