There's a plan to revive the People's car program that many hope will produce Philippine utility vehicles for as low as P 350,000. Toyota HQ would definitely be mulling on this development in determining the introductory price of Avanza. My guess is that the price will range from P 500 to 600K.

this is the most sought toyota car in Malaysia bec. of its price and space, my guess would be in the price range of 700-800K PhP, higher than the Vios.

i don't think it would be that high. toyota malaysia listed avanza at 59k & 62K while the vios (1.5) is at 76K & 84K. vios (1.5) in the phil is 687K & 722K. using ratio and proportion just to give us a rough estimate of the price gives us 533 to 560K which is just below the price range of the vios 1.3. adding in some factors, the price should be much less than 600K

Tricycles are not allowed in EDSA and other major streets in Metro Manila so the probability of being flagged down is nil. Its the side streets i'm worried about, hehehe.

hmmm...there is a recent article mentioning that TMPI will manufacture the Avanza, Vios and Innova here. The Corolla Altis and the Camry will be imported from Thailand.

No offense taken. I've seen and rode one in Malaysia with my family. Nothing really spectacular with the avanza, but its affordability makes it look better. Ika nga lamang ng 10 ligo dahil mura.

Anyway, like I stated, I believe in being practical when buying motor vehicles (better to keep your money in investments). But being practical does'nt neccesarily mean I lower my standards. Like buying a Geely or a Legacy? and in the case of the avanza, since its being targeted primarily for the taxi/utility fleet, its just not up to my standard. peace!

There is no such thing as a global one price policy.

I'm sure TMPI knows that even if they sell it higher or the same as the vios, the avanza will still be a bestseller since it is targeted not only for the taxi/utility fleet which at this time, if we are to follow LTFRCB guidelines, are mostly due for replacement but also as an affordable alternative to privately used people carriers. So with the difference between 533K and 687K of 154K, 560K and 722K of 160K, TMPI, If they can sell a conservative 15K units per year, that would translate to 2.31B to 2.4B pesos in additional revenues per year. You think TMPI will just easily give that up? even half of it?

of course, but if TMPI really intends the avanza for taxi fleet and for first-time buyers, it is implied that it would be comparatively affordable. my guess is if it will be priced above vios 1.3 (which is most likely) it wont be as much as the vios 1.5
