This is nice. Kailangan natin mga ganitong transporter type helicopters. Maalagaan sana ng maayos para tumagal at huwag lang gamiting pang-transport ng mga politiko.

Philippines seeks 12 F-16 fighter jets from US

MANILA, Philippines—An official says the Philippines will seek a squadron of F-16 fighter jets and a third coast guard ship from longtime ally Washington amid simmering territorial disputes in the South China Sea.

Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario said Wednesday that he and the defense chief will meet their US counterparts in Washington next year to discuss the requests. Del Rosario said the requests for 12 F-16 fighter jets and a third coast guard cutter have already been relayed to American officials and their initial response was encouraging.

Washington has provided a coast guard cutter and agreed to send another one to the Philippines, which is locked in territorial disputes with China and four other governments.

Yeah, naalala ko yung nag crash dati sa Codilleras, after waiting for and dropping Mikey Arroyo off in Baguio. Pilot error yata yun (due to fatigue?).

We really need workhorse transports and not just war supports. The C130 is another plane due for replacement and reinforcement.

pardon the question kasi ignorante ako sa mga ganito pero may night fighting/operational capabilities na ba iyong mga 'to? parang iyong mga ginamit laban sa nga abu sayyaff kailan lang (pero american drones naman daw ginamit dun )

Beside the Sokol choppers, parating na rin yung sister ship ng ex-USCGC Hamilton, USCGC Dallas. Slated to be handed over within the 1st half of this year.

Retractable ba ang landing gears neto? Looks neat..airspeed guage max *140nmph

that's a decent speed for that type of helis. Cyclics were still same same...Helis don't really evolve much on their controls.

yun bang yung ugong lang & at the sight of the "gatling gun" mounted, eh nagtatakbuhan na ASGs.........

Not retractable. Besides they add weight and complexity. Kahit Blackhawk or Apache fixed gear lang.

Night flying is different from night fighting. The recent OV-10 strike was reportedly a combination of GPS, dumb bombs and good eyes on the ground.

Ugong is bad because it gives the bad guys notice that you're coming :D
