Yes, just last week, my friend (owner of the new APV) went to Baguio, we were 6. When we reached the uphill, he felt that the engine is going to blow, so we decided to travel back to Manila without reaching Baguio. He decided to sell his APV, very disappointing, he got it in Pasong Tamo.

Carlocaraddict, you want to buy APV? You can contact him at 09274386207 look for Andy. He is selling it for 690,000 with 142 KM in the ODOmeter. Fully Paid Cash, not financed.

142 km? the NLEX (manila to sta. ines) is already 160 km back & forth.

plus have you heard of breaking-in the car before going up baguio with a full load?

For those who criticize the APV when not climbing up the mountains, the pistons and rings in the engine are very tight, it means lots of friction because they set it to a hundredths of a millimeter, so almost zero in tolerances. That's why they recommended the break-in period (5000 kilometers) with up to 4000 rpm only when shifting (for sticks), to remove little less metal from moving parts until the correct tolerances are met, when that happens, the friction reduced thus improving power and fuel economy. When switching to synthetic oils, the engine is now much smoother running, crisp throttle response and fuel economy improved even further. Our APV's mileage is now 1300 kms. and Cebu is a very small place compared to manila and Luzon. I'll try to climb up the mountains similar conditions to Bagiuo with 8 souls with AC placed at #3 speed the temp. control knob pointing to blue area (colder) after 5000 kms with oil changed to syn oils. This is the time you'll test the APV's capabilities and you'll be surprised.

Balintawak to Sta. Ines -> 80 kilometers

Mabalacat to Rosario -> 160 kilometers

that is already 220 kilometers (440 kilometers back & forth) excluding the uphill portion (Kennon Road / Marcos Highway) which is around 20 kilometers.

heck... you wouldn't even have compeleted a round trip around the NLEX (160 km).

baguio is 250 kms from manila, one way. manila to the shell station just before going up kenon is around 200kms. to reach any of the uphill roads, either kenon, marcos or naguilan, you would have already travelled at least 200 kms.

if your odometer reading is 142 kms, then you only travelled 71 kms north. coming from pasong tamo makati, you would not even reach the end of slex at 71 kms.

our lite ace only has 64 bhp. it can go up to baguio carrying 5 adults and a lot of luggage. i am sure the APV can easily go up baguio with its 90+ bhp engine.

Can't make it to Baguio? Bad news, and I'm owning one.

Subic malamang. I've drove my matic APV to Batangas via STAR hiway, OK pa! at 8km/li

I got 3,500+ kms na on my APV! I've been to Baguio, Subic, Batangas, etc. na.

Whoever said it does not own an APV!

The transmission is svelt and pays attention to what your gear need is. Broad ang torque band nya kaya power will always be there when needed.

Saw those good quality leathers sa PilHino nung kuhanin ko yung sasakyan ko pero the price quotation that I got was too steep.

    Macky/All,

I'm planning to test drive my APV A/T, got it only last week, and am still waiting for the licensed plate, btw, I got it from Suzuki Pasong Tamo.

Can you share tips on how to properly break-in an A/T APV? I came from a M/T background, my previous was a Mazda B2200 pick-up which i sold to get an APV.

So far, I logged 100 Kms pa lang, and am not using it going to and from work.

Question: Will a wider and lower profile tires/rims do any good to its pick-up like comfort? Definitely, it will do got aesthetically :-) If it will, I'll definitely get a set.

    Thanks

Hope to see you all on the road.

Hi Macky, I'm using fabric seats. I wonder if a hottie on a mini will get itchy when she seats

I'm saving up for a roof rail/rack. Sabi daw nila idikit nila ng glue, as what they did on the Jimny. I still having doubts whether glue will do.

I do notice a lot of heads turn when I pass by. Is it the car or is it me

can you post some interior pics of the apv? the apv looks promising. yung basic innova j is already 700,000 plus. while the top apv is of the same price range. so, mukhang sulit ang apv. i think the only other fear is that not too many people are familiar with the suzuki reliability. reliable nga ba?
