Nice! Nag-reserve ako ng Explorer last July 2012 pero pahirapan sa allocation tapos gusto pa ng dealer extra ganyan ganyan so I cancelled it. Next option ko Prado V6 pero no stock. Landed with a LC200. Baka meant to be hehe...
Sorry for resurrecting a year old thread pero I think the current 2014 GV is just a facelift of this model so I'm asking my questions here.
Planning to get a GV pero natakot ako sa mga reviews. So a few questions sana may mga GV owners pa na makasagot.
1.) Ano ang tyical FC ng GV 2.4L? SA quoted me 7-9km/l, which if true is good enough for me. Pero totoo nga ba? Ito ang biggest worry ko baka 5km/l lng cya... I back read a bit (until 2007 lng) and someone quoted 8km/l, pero 1 lang. accurate padin ba for the current 2.4l?
2.) Nabsa ko sa international review sites na matagtag at bumpy ang ride ng GV specially sa lubak? Is this also true on our version of the GV? Can someone compare this to other SUVs? Another worry for me is the ride specially sa backseat ay harsh.
3.) Anyone has the 4AT as oppose to the timing chain equipped CVT variant? Or someone who got both can comment on how much better (or worse) ung 4AT? Also malaki ba difference sa gas consumption?
4.) May nakapagkabit na ba ng LCD HU sa GV nila? The SA was accomodating, pwede daw ako bumili sa labas pero dapat sa kanila magpakabit which is fine, pero may mabbili ba na kasize ng GV? Don't really want the GPS (nokia and google maps would be just as good I think), trip ko lng na naka LCD as oppose to buttons.
TIA.
My 2.0L's FC is around 6-6.5 km/l city driving. Naka-8 ako pero sa highway yun. So I doubt if the 2.4L variant can do 7-9 in city driving. Even our Mitsu Grandis with a 2.4L engine, the FC is 5-5.5 km/l city driving.
Ride - not that bumpy chaka ikaw naman magdra-drive so di mo yan ramdam sa harap hehe
LCD HU - ang alam ko Suzuki Phils gets their entertainment system from Winterpine so better go to them directly.
Double post - deleted.

I bought my son a GV AT 4x4 2.0L. Its a seldom used car and so far its running fine.
Today I decided to bring it mountain driving for the first time going to infanta passing
through the marifanta road. and I noticed that It shifts at very high rpms. Normally
between 3,500 to 4000rpm when going up a steep incline.
I noticed this also when driving within the city but since there are very few steep inclines
in the city, it is quite tolerable. But it the mountains it makes the GV drive quite slow with
a very angry engine. Is this normal for a GV 2.0 4x4? Many thanks for your answers.
The GV 4x4 is a rather heavy car, so to get good acceleration on an uphill road, the engine really has to rev to generate the necessary torque to propel the car upward.
When you feel that the engine's stressed, shift down to the lowest gear possible to get the best acceleration. An engine in 2nd gear revving at 4000 rpm but accelerating normally is actually more efficient than an engine bogged down in 3rd gear and 2000 rpm with barely no acceleration even with the accelerator floored.

Hoping for your help. I own an 06 grand vitara and think the abs module is leaking. Casa wants to replace part with a quote for Php90,000. Any alternative to repair?
Hi, would anyone know where if there are any replacement rack and pinions for the Grand Vitara? Or at least another place I can look for a steering seal repair kit for it? Sir Jonathan at Olympia is out of stock and can't import any new repair kits due to COVID-19.
