My hydrovac is starting to give me problems. Once in a while, diretso pababa pagtapak ko sa brake. Sabi ng mekaniko hanap daw ng surplus. Is this a good solution? May nagre-repair ba ng hydrovac? Maliit lang po kasi budget ko.

My ride is Isuzu Crosswind XTO 2001.

Thanks to all.

Wait! Get a second opinion. Based on your description, the brake master cylinder needs a replacement kit.

Buying surplus is buying someone else headache. Buy yourself a rebuilding kit an rebuilt it, and guarantee........ same as new.

if there are no brake fluid leaking on your wheel brake cylinders, then most probably you have problem with the brake master cylinder. sometimes it is enough just to buy a master cylinder repair kit to fix this type of problem.
but if the cylinder walls have dep scratches, they you have to replace the
whole master cyclinder assembly. The hydrovac is separate/can be separated from the brake master. the failure symptom for a defective hydrovac is hard brake pedal and poor brake performance.

i think you need to get second opinion kasi a defective hydrovac iba ang symptoms like lost brake power kahit tapakan mo ng madiin parang ayaw kumapit ng brake, matigas na ang brake pedal and pabago bago ang stiffness. ang nangyari sa iyo pagapak sa brake lumusot meaning may leak ang brake system or kailangan mo na palitan ang brake master or kung saan man may leak.

if the master is the problem it sinks to the floor. if the hydrovac is the problem matigas sobra yung pedal. get a better mechanic imo.
