I'm looking for a new 205/45 r17 tire for my jazz. What's a good tire brand? Nitto was suggested but it's a little hard to find. Any info? What other brand to consider that's reliable but doesn't sacrifice comfort? Thanks!

Hi guys,

Just wanna share some feedback about my newly installed tires last week. It's a Maxxis Victra (Thailand) bought it for P5K a piece. Ginamit namin papuntang Camarines Sur, and to my surprised ang kapit niya sa mga turns, although medyo negative camber yung gsr ko, hindi ko sure kung dahil sa gulong or sa set-up ng camber.

Ang talagang nagustuhan ko ay yung dumaan na kame ng Quezon, lintik yang daan dyan kakabwisit..! Umaandar ako ng 80Kph biglang BLAGGGG...! Akala ko madadagdagan na yung mga tama ng mags ko kaya tuluy-tuloy na lang ako at wala na akong pakielam sa lubak. Pagdating namin sa CWC, tinidnan ko yung mga gulong and expected na makakita ng mga bagong bended lips, but to my surprise eh walang bagong bended lips sa apat na gulong. Hindi ako makapaniwala dito kasi kung icocompare ko sa Nitto tires niya dati ay sigurado akong may mga bagong tama ng yung lips ng mags sa paraan ng paggamit ko sa kanya.

I was really amazed with the result. Actually inaasahan ko nang bumili ulet ng bagong set ng tires at mags habang nagddrive ako nun papunta. Yung hangin nga pala nung pinalagay ko ay 36psi normal air lang, hindi siya matagtag kagaya ng sa Nitto ko dati, hindi kasi ako pwedeng magbaba ng 40psi sa Nitto ko dati dahil konting maling pothole lang eh tiyak nakaukit na yan sa mags.

Regarding sa road noise ay wala naman ako naririnig nung dry pa yug roads, pero nung umuulan na eh dyan ko na naririnig yung splash ng tubig. For the price na P5k masasabi kong sulit ang bili ko after ng trip namin to Camarines Sur.

Not sure about the size you need, nakabili ako ng Ecsta SPT last week sa S&R while they were having a sale, 205/55/16 yung akin, got it for 4.7k.

I would go with Apollo. Cheaper than MRF but has more ply and matibay din. Although cheaper pa nga at GT.

Depends sa kind of tire yan and car kasi. Plus yung brand din na gagamitin mo may malaking effect. You get what you pay for ika nga as ageneral rule. Kaya mahirap i-generalize.

But if may thread wear rating yung tire, then mas madali malaman.

Thread wear ng mga HT tires ay 320-380. ATtires is 440-520 usually afaik. Mas matagal mapudpod AT tire para sa SUV at pick-ups.
