Question to all Subaru owners: what's the lowest reading that you've achieved at any one time on your on-board consumption calculator? I was able to record 4.6 liters/100 kms! How did I do it? I reset my trip meter while on SLEX travelling at exactly 60kph. When I hit the 1-kilometer mark, it was 5.4, then went down steadily to 4.6. When I first stepped on the brake, it rose steadily again.
meaning at hiway driving of 60kph u could achieve 4.6li/100km that's almost Honda Jazz like figure.... just get the reciprocal and you get 21km/li. wow! pero who drives at 60kph constantly? no one, haha. pero its good to know na basta hinay hinay ka lang talaga puede naman sya tumipid..... yung 2012 Imprezza daw with 2.0li gas with CVT will get a rating of 36mpg. the highest sa AWD vehicle category.... that's 15km/li of real world driving goodness. the EPA2008 fuel consumption method mandates of of Airconditioning and varying speeds and that's much higher than 60kph for sure. so goodthings coming Subaru owners way...

    Ride: Forester XT
Year: 2010 model, bought in 2011
    Displacement: 2.5L turbo
    Engine Configuration: 4cyl
    Fuel Consumption:
-City: 20 L/100km or 5km/liter. Metro Manila driving for 1 week. Consider this "extreme urban conditions."
    -Highway: 12.6 L/100km or 7.94km/liter. Aircon on, average 120 kph on SLEX, Manila-Alabang-Sta. Rosa-Manila
-Mixed: 18.3 L/100km or 5.46km/liter. Combined total based on odometer reading.

    Methodology:
Used trip meter A as benchmark for City and Highway figures. Reset readings to 0 for 1 week Metro Manila driving conditions and used ave FC for city conditions. Reset trip meter back to 0 for highway driving last Sun. and took reading afterwards.

Used trip meter B to get combined figures. Trip meter B has not been reset since the car was bought. May not be a fair reading since the car has been used predominantly in the city.

Wow. Based on your trip meter B, your car drank 27L/100km or 3.7 km/L. The other reading of 11.8L/100km is equal to 8.47 km/L. I assume these are for city driving only. Either that or you've been stomping on the gas pedal. Speed limits are just a suggestion, right?

*dindop, today I made a big sacrifice. Drove my FXT on the skyway from Makati to Alabang and stayed at 100kph, just to see what the FC would be by being a law-abiding citizen. Oh the humiliation of being overtaken by an Innova, Starex and Altis.

Conditions: 11:30 am on a Sunday, aircon at auto, 20C setting, outside temp at 32C, Shell V-Power fuel.

Upon exiting at Alabang, the trip meter showed 10.6L/100km or 9.4km/L. Curiosity satisfied. I'm guessing FC would be better at ground level because it's got less ups and downs than the skyway. But then again, who wants to drive at 100kph?

I'm getting around 6km/li sa BR9, maraming gunnit mode yun hehehehe... palagay ko kayang paabutin ng 7+km/li kung 2400rpm and below, or basta hindi mag-s-spool yung turbo
kaso, like you said, who wants to drive slow when it is absolutely safe to drive fast on wide open roads, hehehehe....
the hell with FC (at least when i'm driving, laging S#-mode)... pag family driver na ang may dala I-mode lang sya, at bawal mabilis

Subaru Forester 2.0, mileage at 234 kilometers using Petron XCS

City driving mostly Taguig-Makati (except for one trip to Meycauayan):

per onboard trip computer: 16liters/100kms or 6.25
per manual computation: 234.9 kms/33.96 liters or 6.92

This should get better after the break-in period

Subaru Forester 2.0, mileage at only 500 kilometers using Petron XCS

    City driving mostly Taguig-Makati

per onboard trip computer (Trip B): 14.6liters/100kms or 6.85
per onboard trip computer (Trip A): 13.4liters/100kms or 7.46
per manual computation: 259.6 kms/36.45 liters or 7.12

*I plan to reset Trip B after every PMS. Trip A is for everytime I load up on gas.

    Subaru 2.0 Impreza M/T
Manila - San Juan batangas, pure highway drive, gunnit mode sa highway (pedal to the metal on acceleration), Cruising stayed on 120kph max,
    11.8 km/l.

    1 tank 50% highway/ 50% city = 8.6km/l
1 tank 100% city (Paranaque, Makati, Fort area) 6.7 km/l-7.3 km/l. Stop and go traffic plays a big part in the low FC, I guess.

1 tank 100% city, but regularly takes skyway to makati = 9 km/l. <- tipid na yan, pero may bayad skyway. :\

Unfortunately yes. The minute I hit the Makati CBD in the morning, or just trying to get out at night, wala na. Whatever gains I had in FC, bawi kaagad

Some nights, I take Skyway and exit at airport/resort's world just so I can drive 80-100kph. But Sales Bridge really slows down to a crawl. Saka if I pay 20 bucks a night toll fee, parang mababawi lahat ng fuel savings. Hahaha! Lalo na those who live in Alabang or farther. Whew.

    Subaru Forester 2.0

City driving, mostly bumper-to-bumper barely moving traffic on the way to Makati.

per onboard trip computer (Trip B): 14.4liters/100kms or 6.94
per onboard trip computer (Trip A): 13.6liters/100kms or 7.35
per manual computation: 325.4 kms/47.43 liters or 6.86
