even sa USA, carmakers now are considering of putting diesel engines in their cars to improve FC even if diesel is more expensive than unleaded there. cars equipped with diesel engines have far more better resale value too compared with their gasoline fed brothers. yun nga lang, you pay a little more during PMS.

The only problem leading to a lower availability of Diesel-powered cars back there is EPA and its regulations more based in politics than technical reasons.

That's true. The TBills are low and that is government guarantee (our governtment now first the first time has positive dept/equity ration - means we have more capital than international debts). There are added % into the interest; Risk Free and Risk Premium (w/c is more expensive and bank dictated). In reality, we should be at least 3%-4% interest rates for short term loans (just my assumptions and not data validated). In the US, interest rates varies from 1% to 3% only. While in the Phils, it junks up to >38%. The Peso is appreciating but we are not feeling this into our daily life - note that even power rates continues to go up month on month. The reality is there so much variance on interest rates and of our current tax systems (i.e. we have income tax, when we but foods/gas, we have VAT, when we use roads we pay tool gates...so many double taxations)....it's ok to pay tax if we get free services in return (just like other countries). We have to feel the improvement of our economy into our home/wallet and that we get the "value" of it - else, it's just a bubble.

Going back to the subject thread, I enjoyed my trailblazer 4x4 so far and that I'm greatly satisfied (except that i might upgrade for a good HU dvd/gps to make it more "executive"). It requires patience to get it. I suggest let's not rush into these SA/dealers or else it will create a side effect force into high % interest rates or "greedy" stuffs. Let's just thanks those dealerships and SA's that live with their commitments and form our "own" force to encourage other soon-to-buyers to patronage these dealers/people... besides, they can deliver any in the regions.

Drove my friends trailblazer ltz yesterday. Drove it like i stole it too!

Well it certainly drives much taller than my ford explorer ... You can feel the ground clearance. Handling is a little bit loose...steering numb and with too much assist. Torque is nice but nothing great. Acceleration is nothing remarkable but it doesnt feel underpowered. In manual mode, the tranny doesnt upshift so you have to manually upshift (similar to cx9). Its much bigger than the santa fe so in the end, its a good choice for what i need.

The plastics and interior are two grades below the santa fe though. Even this top of the line ltz version. They should work on that.

So after your test drive, are you still excited to have your unit delivered?

Maybe you can upgrade to Lexus for exhilarating acceleration or maybe wait for the Sta Fe Long Wheel Base for comparable space improvement. Just a thought though, for you know your best choice.

so sir, everytime you drive your TBLZR and get beside the Santa Fe Gen 3, you'll be looking at the SF and cant help but compare... oh well, in this life, you cant have it all..

One time I parked my sapphire black LTZ TBZ in the basement of Waltermart Makati, and parked beside mine was a generation 2 Sta Fe and behind me a gen3 Sta Fe. I looked from afar and because of the tall stance of the TBZ it seemed to me that the TBZ may sell more than 2 million hahaha.
