Pldt is unreliable in my area. Dati smart bro. Now
we are still with Globe - initially we subscribed to 50Mbps and was upgraded regularly the past few years.

I've a wifii 6 mesh in the condo. I use Deco X50. I came from using an old mesh Deco M5. I'll just share what I was told regarding wifi 6. You get better speeds, less bandwidth congestion and more optimized for both 2.5Ghz and 5Ghz. Kinda technical but when I was told about better optimization then I upgraded ours. So far so good.

Is it a lot faster than your old Deco M5?

Far as I know the main difference between WiFi-AC and WiFi 6 (AX) is the 2.4GHz band.
AC uses newer signaling tech but only in the 5GHz band, so 2.4GHz devices run using the old WiFi N.
WiFi 6 (AX) extends the new signaling methods to the 2.4GHz band.

Sorry for the late response. I can only share what I saw using speedtest app. Seems to have a good 200Mbps increase when I test it. If before using the M5 I would average 400Mbps, now I get 600Mbps.

My average using the Deco M5

    Here's with the Deco X50

It's not Gigabit speed since I don't have that with the plan but it's good enough for us.

My Globe Fiber 1,799 (200 Mbps )will be installed tomorrow, it comes with a WiFi 6 router so I don't know if I can still use my Deco M4. It says on the specs Wifi 5 and speed of more than 300 Mbps.screenshot_2023-10-19-20-16-02-446_com.android.chrome.jpg

wifi6 is designed to be backward compatible with wifi5, so theoretically your M4 should work with the new device that is wifi6 capable, unless globe tweaked their devices not to work with other devices that they didnt sell

wifi6 has a 3rd frequency band (6GHz) that will work only with gadgets that have 6GHz radios

if all your IoT devices are up to 5GHz only then the additional 6GHz available from the new wifi6 router will be pretty much useless

Thanks Kisshmet, I'll work on the M4 later, right now my problem is I can't connect my Tapo C210 cams. My Tapo C310WS is fine because it's connected via LAN cable to the router. The router has separate connections for 5G and 2.4.

^new network name and password requires reconfiguration for the wifi

ethernet connection typically requires no password

For 3 years tiniis ko ang 25 Mbps lock in contract, now naka 200 Mbps na ako, I don't really feel any difference, kaya I don't really care if my subscribe speed goes down to half.screenshot_2023-10-22-17-27-33-121_com.android.chrome-edit.jpg

Anyone on Fibr plan with Cignal? Do you still get a public IP address, or naka CGNAT na?

Also, how is the Cignal STB connected? Wired-LAN ba from the ONU?

Ako naman since weekend pa problem connection. Yung weekend less than 5 mbps download pero 400 mbps upload. Then this next ticket eh blinking LOS na.

I have multiple ISP so I don't usually notice if one ISP is down.

I had a very bad experience with PLDT few years ago, 3 months of intermittent connection and 20 tickets closed without resolution. The frustration and stress it caused me, The very reason I acquired multiple ISP is to avoid stress of having no Internet especially I'm WFH.

I had that intermittent problem with Globe 6 years ago, it lasted for more than 2 months. Pinapalitan ko na sa kanila ang wire from box to house ganun pa rin. Ayaw pa kasi aminin na may problem sa system nila.

Ganyan mga telco, ayaw aminin na oversubscribe. Pag 6pm to 10pm, my vpn connection is intermittent. Pag nag speed test ka ang bilis naman ng upload/download.
Mas stable pa ang 5G/LTE hotspot sa phone, bwiset.

    My most recent speedtest.

Can confirm the speed is legit, I downloaded a replay of the last F1 race and it was going > 60MB/s.

To overseas server download is still almost full speed, but upload gets cut significantly.
