I've read somewhere around the net that Plasma TVs are better placed in dark rooms (ala theater room) and LEDs/LCDs shows its best in brightly-lit rooms.

Intayin ko na lang irelease ng LG ang TV na gamit ang Super AMOLED display bago ko paltan ang LCD ko. Balita ko by 2013 irelease na yan ng LG. Magmumura na yang LED TV's 'pag 'yan. Pictures will be much crisper ,clearer and more energy efficients. That is a kind of display we see on mobile phones like in the Samsung Galaxy S2, PS Vita etc.,

well the Super AMOLED display of the Samsung Galaxy Note is having problems rendering HD content. more info here.

Thats the Galaxy Note problem! and not all products using Super AMOLED Displays are having problems! It may be a software or hardware glitch thats causing the problem not the display itself. The technology of AMOLED's are already proven and being used nowadays! Soon, those LCD and LED TV's will be replaced....Further improvements on those displays are heavily funded on their RND's to make their products more superior than the previous ones!

The cutting edge right now would be large OLED screens with 4k resolution. Masyado lang mahal. They were unveiled at CES a few weeks ago.
