we used to buy original HP ink for our 1300 series 3-in-1, for 1500 per. we can have it re-filled with generic but compatible-enough ink at about 350 bucks.
our three-year old "brother" printer's oem ink costs 350 bucks and, in my opinion, printed three times as much as our old HP's, page-wise.

i am sure, other inks will be considerably cheaper, especially the generics and those that come in jumbo, external packs.
we're not into that much printing, so we are content with regular-size ink cartridges. i just purchased my second black ink cartridge since 2018, as the machine was already giving low ink warnings. but it still prints blacks fine. our color cartridge is still the original since 2018.

    HP.
even if the printer were given free, the ink will pay for it. at kumita pa sila.
we gave ours up because the lady in the store said that the ink was rare, was special order from malaysia, and expensive.
i believe the newer HPs are cheaper, but... it was time for a new flavor for us.

1500 and you only need one ink cartridge for black and colored printing?

My old LExmark kasi, 2 cartridge (black and color)

    clarification po.
our HP has two inks: one black, and another for color.

the price quoted is for black ink only. the color ink is more expensive.
we print in B&W more, and our black ink needed replacement more often.

na-tauhan kami when we found out just how cheap the newer competiting printers' inks cost.

250 to 300p per piece for a 70ml ink should be good, 1k++ for a set of 4 (CMYK.). Matagal tagal na gamitan yan.

I thought HP is the best when it comes to printers?

Hp is the best when it comes to Laser printers. Deskjets are crap, heads are leaky always gets clogged.

Business grade printers of any brands are ok. We're leasing 500,000 prints/yr from toshi. no downtime whatsoever.

These budget inkjets are priced so they can cover replacements lol.

All I did was head cleaning and calibration most of the time. i just threw them away and just went to the office for hard copy documents.

^Kumusta naman ang toner? dami parin mabilhan diba? hehe

Samsung lasers are the worst, the toner itself and the drum heater mechanism always fails.

For around P5k, i guess there's the HP with free toner.

+1 on Brother. We have the DCP-TW500 with Tank refill system and wireless printing thru BT or wi-fi. Bought it about 3 years ago to replace our Canon because of the cost of ink replacement. So far so good and its made in PH pa pala.

    +1 on HP
i am also on the hunt for a replacement for our HP officejet printer. its not currently broken but i cant seem to find any sellers of its ink. Our HP Officejet lasted for over 12 years na. not a heavy user so i am always using original inks which since last year i can't seem to find anymore being sold even in the official HP stores or Lazada or shopee.

although might switch to epson for a purely black inkjet or laser printer.

From my experience before i got this HP i had 2 units of Brothers office printer which got errors a few months after the warranty lapse. so i would not recommend brother printer although their reliability might be better on the newer models.

    .
the shop lady (the owner, i think) where i purchased my last HP ink, three years ago,
said that the ink i want is imported from malaysia on special order only. that is why it is difficult to find locally and is expensive.
we replaced our HP printer shortly after that.
    brother.
