Buhayin ko na lang itong thread na ito imbes na mag start ng bago.

I have a SAmsung Galaxy Note 8 (GT-N5100) running on Kitakat 4.4.2
Any links, tips, suggestions on how to successfully root this device?
The restriction on the SD card necessitates rooting this device.

Another thing, any recommended backup software which can backup my apps, files, etc on my non-rooted device then restore it to the same device after rooting.

As with anything related to rooting or flashing, always make sure to read, re-read and read again before you get started. As much as possible, follow the "manual" method for rooting. Try to avoid using all-in-one rooting apps. As convenient as they may be, they are better suited for experienced users. For first time users, they are more of a gamble. (Should anything go wrong, you won't know what went wrong.)

Mejo nalilito ako. Kailangan ko magbackup before mag root? Anung suggested app/method ng pag backup ng apps at app data?
At working pa ba yung cf-auto-root?

Also, before you decide to buy that new android phone, pay a quick visit to XDA to see if there is a DEV thread for it. Kung meron, then you'll be assured that you can still get DEV updates via custom ROMs long after the manufacturer has EOL'ed your phone.
Kung walang DEV thread, I'd stay away from that model.
