Notice the marshall's outpost waving double yellows switch to green while the tractor was still dragging Sutil's car with marshalls still beside it... And still waving after the crash.

Rosberg has done a good job on qualifying where the track and himself is his only enemy, whilst Lewis has repeatedly proven his dominance over actual races. As regards to the Bianchi incident, racing is already a dangerous sport - why make it more dangerous? Yes, danger adds flavor to the sport but at what price? It is mind boggling how the stewards let the race continue. Not enough light? Heavy rain? we have experienced far more extreme conditions says past f1 drivers, and that was it - "past".

    Update on Bianchi...prognosis is poor.

The following is the official release from the team and family of Jules Bianchi.A diffuse axonal injury is a form of traumatic brain injury that is common with car accidents. The damage occurs over a widespread area and can result in permanent damage for those who do recover. 90% of patients with this kind of affliction never wake up.

“This is a very difficult time for our family, but the messages of support and affection for Jules from all over the world have been a source of great comfort to us. We would like to express our sincere appreciation.

“Jules remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the Mie General Medical Center in Yokkaichi. He has suffered a diffuse axonal injury and is in a critical but stable condition. The medical professionals at the hospital are providing the very best treatment and care and we are grateful for everything they have done for Jules since his accident.

“We are also grateful for the presence of Professor Gerard Saillant, President of the FIA Medical Commission, and Professor Alessandro Frati, Neurosurgeon of the University of Rome La Sapienza, who has travelled to Japan at the request of Scuderia Ferrari. They arrived at the hospital today and met with the medical personnel responsible for Jules’ treatment, in order to be fully informed of his clinical status so that they are able to advise the family. Professors Saillant and Frati acknowledge the excellent care being provided by the Mie General Medical Center and would like to thank their Japanese colleagues.

“The hospital will continue to monitor and treat Jules and further medical updates will be provided when appropriate.”

If he never recovers, better for him to move on...

The Doctor's View - it's hard to recover
Edward McKintosh - Consultant Neurosurgeon at London Bridge Hospital:

'A diffuse axonal injury is a complex condition and it is difficult to assess from the outside how a patient will react.

'An axonal injury is different to a blood clot or a tumour in the brain. The brain cells themselves become damaged, often with the connections between cells sheared off.

'That impairs the brain's ability to talk to itself. If deeper parts of the brain are injured this can affect blood pressure and a patient's heart rate, which can be fatal.

'Memory and personality can be affected and if it is severe, people often don't wake up. Bianchi has a chance, but it is an injury with a low recovery rate.'

Remember "the bucket of salt rumour" that Alonso will move to Red Bull and Vettel to Ferrari which now proved partially true???

'Hamilton signs for McLaren for 2015' - F1Today.net Formula 1 news

EXCLUSIVE: HAMILTON SIGNS FOR MCLAREN FOR 2015!
    Published on 08 Oct 2014 10:41

Lewis Hamilton has signed a contract for next season to return to his old team McLaren and spear head their new era with old partners Honda. The Brit has been battling all season long with team-mate Nico Rosberg for this years World title and only one of them can win it. As it currently stands, Hamilton is first with a ten point lead over Rosberg in the championship standings.

The pair have had a season of tension between them, with Belgium hitting the peak when Rosberg gave Hamilton a puncture after the pair clash on the second lap, which caused the Brit to retire later on in the race. Hamilton then claimed Rosberg admitted to doing it on purpose to prove a point, in which Nico denied the allegations.

Questions and rumours have been flying around the paddock all season about the Mercedes duo and in the latter part, the driver market.

F1Today.net has had sources reveal to them that Hamilton visited the Woking base three weeks ago to sign for the team starting from next season. The source said: "Lewis was in the Woking factory three weeks ago. He arrived by helicopter, had a conversation about two hours with the management and then left with a big smile on his face. He signed here, I can assure you. A seat fitting has not happened yet, but that will take place in the foreseeable future."

    Sebastian Vettel
At last weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing announced that Vettel would leave the team at the end of the season to join Ferrari. Daniil Kvyat, who is in his first season of F1 this year, would replace the four times World Champion at Red Bull and partner Daniel Ricciardo, who will enter his second year with the team in 2015.

    Fernando Alonso
Ferrari haven’t confirmed or denied Vettel joining the team but with it all but certain, this means that Alonso, who has been with the Italian outfit since 2010, will probably be moving teams as well. The question on everyone’s lips is where? Reports suggest McLaren, others Lotus and some saying a sabbatical is on the cards but here at F1Today.net, we are told he will take the vacant seat at Mercedes that Lewis Hamilton is leaving behind.

    Jenson Button
Another question that is being asked is who will leave McLaren but it is looking like the Woking based team will keep rookie Kevin Magnussen for a second season and ship 2009 World Champion, Jenson Button out. Rumours say that the Brit has been offered by Porsche to race for them in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) next season.

Bakit hinde mag-aapologize? 2nd lap yung incident, i won't even call it accident kase it looked deliberate.. Or on a lesser degree, clumsy move..

Kung ako man si lewis hamilton, ayaw ko yata ng kakampi na would sacrifice a team win, just to prove a point..

Yes, rosberg in his competitive nature deserves to be a contender or even a world champion. Pero kahit siya ang manalo for this year, he ain't gonna win the fans for sure..

Nun lang ako nakakita ng podium na binoo ang race winner..

Alonso is dilly dallying on his commitment to Mclaren. One year for Euro 40 million. Mclaren wants at least 2 years... Even Toto Wolff left a small bit of uncertainty for their 2015 line up

Indeed, a McLaren source told us "no one" currently knows how the situation with the Woking team's 2015 driver lineup will ultimately turn out.

"The Spanish star wants only a one-year contract, while McLaren is insisting on a commitment of at least two years," said Vasconcelos.

A one-year deal would leave Alonso theoretically free to leave McLaren after earning up to an incredible EUR 40 million in 2015, and then jump into Hamilton's plum seat at Mercedes for 2016.
Alonso in 'tough' McLaren negotiations - report | News | Motorsport.com

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has claimed that he is only "99%" sure whether his driver lineup will remain the same in 2015.

The Silver Arrows have recently secured the long-term future of Nico Rosberg, but Lewis Hamilton's name is one of a number linked with a drive in McLaren's Honda-powered car when the Japanese manufacturer returns to the sport from next season.

However, while Wolff was unable to confirm whether both racers will remain with the constructors' championship leaders, the German appeared to be relaxed regarding negotiations over the Briton's future.

He told Sport Bild: "You have to hold something back because exceptional circumstances can always arise. In life, nothing is ever 100% for sure.
