RIP Secretary Jesse Robredo, you're really a huge loss to the nation.

also giving slack to his aide... naniniwala kasi ako na hindi pa sya trained to protect his boss on a plane crash scenario. i bet even a trained person is not sure what to do if the real thing happen. ang pinaka importante sa lahat ay kung buo ang loob at hindi mag panic pag dumating ang hindi inaasahang panahon.
kahit nga during BOSIET training ang daming nagpapanic pag pinataob na ang dummy chopper. throwing real life situation into the equation ay ibang usapan na yan

Was watching some interviews earlier and could not help but compare how much different Sec. Robredo was from the previous guy at DILG. The previous guy always had an army of security people around him and his home at an exclusive subdivision while Robredo would even take the bus to commute to and from Naga, and as seen in the accident, had only one aide.

Here's his commencement speech at Ateneo some years ago.

Do you know Jesse Robredo is a Chinese mestizo? His grandfather is from the mainland with the surname Lim but changed to Robredo. His father, Jesse Chan Robredo Sr. is pure Chinese.

The previous guy has been the dilg sec for quite some time already. From what i heard, the previous guy was untouchable. Usually when the president ends his term, so is all of the secs. Usec lang natitira.

Yes, the previous guy has been quite notorious, he was known to swing elections and the previous admin owned him a lot. Even way back to the time of Ramos he was said to work wonders when elections came about (ever wonder why Brenda has a really big axe to grind with him?).

That other usec, Rico Puno... kabarilan ata ni Pnoy yun.

Naka-update na nga agad yung wikipedia ni Paqui Ochoa eh... acting DILG.

So looking ahead, who will be qualified to run DILG. Medyo critical din ito and it's an election year that's coming up. Sadly, hindi rin pa rin pala na-confirm yung appointment ni Robredo; laging nadedelay.

Yes, it's SOP but since they were in a private plane, wala din. Also, with a floatation device, it has to be the inflatable kind where you inflate it after exiting the plane as you can get stuck inside if the vest is inflated and water fills the cockpit.

Dapat sinuot na nila yung life vest when may problema na yung isang engine. Mukhang nag stall yung plane, hinde na-control ng mga pilots for a belly-landing.

Regarding the plane retrieval, hihilain to the shore yung plane or bubuhatin?

Yeah. A lot of people are making much ado about the "Interim" position and the uneasy relation with Puno. Given nga... there is factionalism and PNoy is close to Puno, but PNoy chose Robredo as DILG Secretary over Puno, over Binay, over anyone else. Robredo's "Interim" position was more down to politicking by Villafuerte and issues with the CoA than anything else, no matter what people may try to suggest... and there's never been any indication of PNoy actively trying to rescind his own nomination of Robredo for the post.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    I totally agree.

Aide's father is speaking to the press in tears. It's time we stop the bickering regarding aide's story.

Guilty here and now zipping my mouth.
