in the Christian fundamentalist context, WWII may be considered an apocalyptic event - a cleansing event, a population purging event or whatever it's called. and what happened after WWII, a restart/reset for the human race, a period of peace and rediscovery and things that were taken for granted became important.

I guess the question right now is, Is God capable of turning the blind eye, wishing us harm's way too by leaving our fate to chance? my answer is yes. why? bec. WWII happened. how come God did not intervene when a madman (hitler) was set loose on earth? bec. Hitler is just a by- product of man's uncontrollable sin and greed. Hitler is an idealist and a nationalist. His countrymen were equally idealistic, talented (which explains why Germans were technically superior) and noble. but they were getting poorer, because they cannot stomach the mass media that time. Motion Film and radio were fast rising that time but not too many people understood its true potential, and the ones who did enriched themselves (mostly the Europeans with Jewish ancestry) at a time of great depression.

You are taking yourself as an equal to God's will ... that is practically saying you are God. Such is considered heresy and blasphemy in Catholic faith.
