Sport utility vehicle
From Wikipedia
A sport utility vehicle, or SUV, is a passenger vehicle which combines the towing capacity of a pickup truck with the passenger-carrying space of a minivan or station wagon together with on or off road ability. Most SUVs are designed with a roughly square cross-section, an engine compartment, a combined passenger and cargo compartment, and no dedicated trunk. Most mid-size and full-size SUVs have three rows of seats with a cargo area directly behind the last row of seats.

Syu, what's the prob with what i said? Of course, academic na ang definition na yan and needless to say since everyone has an idea what an SUV and AUV is.
Hominid: XUVi? or yung "turbo" kuno na sobrang bagal?.
Tsaka kung di nman kailangan ng 4x4, what for? Minsan naman, kahit gusto mo ng 4x4, walang available sa dealer, 4x2 lang so siempre pag-tyagaan mo na rin kesa wala or bumili ka ng lesser choices.

October 24th, 2007 11:16 PM #74Opinion lang naman ito.
Kung d kailangan ng 4x4, why get an SUV? Any Xwind will do para sa mga lubak o baha. Kung gusto mong maporma, get the higher model.
Kung kailangan ng speed, why not get a car?
A new CRDi pickup with camper shell is also a good alternative sa SUV kun di afford.
Peaceout, lol!Last edited by hominid; October 24th, 2007 at 11:22 PM.

it's a matter of choice pa rin, kung sa offroads ka most of the time required talaga ang 4x4 pero kung sobra naman sa pogi points eh nakakahinayang gamiting pangharabas... anyway i've opted for a powerful yet fuel efficient new engine 4x2 suv since yung matitipid eh... pangdown na rin for a second car.

Tama si ILD...it's an endless debate.
No offense though to Isuzu xwind owners....maingay nga itong mga ito kahit na yung mga top of the line sportivos. I guess Isuzu should improve the dampening of the engine noise. Their body designs/ride height looks great though but I think body roll was sacrificed to a good extent. Turbo for these cars is also a misnomer kasi parang mabagal pa din.
Peace.

October 25th, 2007 06:51 PM #79IMHO, AUV will ride 10 or more people and will cost less to operate and acquire. A SUV will have a variant that has 4wd capability. Everything else that's not a van/car/truck/bus, is an MPV. It's quite innovative, IMO.

IIRC they're with AVID. The reported numbers in the TG article are from CAMPI.
