Shell Helix Diesel for my STAREX![]()
I use Mobil 1 10w-30 full synthetic on both my vehicles. However, I still change it every 3,000 miles instead of extending it like others do with synthetics. I check my oil regularly and at 3K it is usually darker in color than I would prefer.
3.0 d4d and 4m41 = castrol magnatech or pertua semi synthetic
1hdt and td42 = shell rimula x
4d56t = castrol gtx diesel
Fortuner 2.5D4d -- Castrol Magnatec
castrol australia website recommends magnatec for 1kdftv and 2kdftv.. hindi nga nila ni recommend yung castrol edge for d4d..
Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 Semi-Synthetic for Toyota 3C-TD
TOP 1 15W-40 Fully-Synthetic for Mitsubishi 4D56-TDI
in my observation, TOP 1 was more quite compared to Castrol but unfortunately, I didn't find any TOP 1 10W-40 for our 3C-T.
Multi-grade users should be cautious in choosing the right range
When you see 10W-30 on a quart of oil, it means that it acts like 10 weight oil when it is cold (the "W" means winter, say -10^C), but acts like 30 weight oil when hot (100^C). This is not to say that it is actually thicker when it is hot. Hot 30 weight oil is thinner than cold 10 weight oil. Even so, it still helps provide the benefits of both types of oil depending on its temperature. So 0W-30 oil acts like 0 weight oil when cold, but maintains a 30 weight viscosity when hot.

Use one gallon of Mobil 1 fully synthetic on my 2liters manual 4x2 Escape. To tell you the truth I dont find it any difference to my engine's sound or performance with the different oil that I've used before and now, synthetic or not.My engine performed well with any motor oil!

yun din nga napansin ko, there seems to be no difference in switching to mobil 1 from regular mineral oil. Sa everest ko after changing to mobil1 umitim agad and thats after 1 week and 200kms use
in terms of fuel savings/power gain/noise reduction, very negligible ang comparison between fully synthetic and mineral oil. the primary advantage of fully synthetic is longer oil service (oil change interval) because there is lesser molecular breakdown in oil during usage. meaning hindi kagad nagdede-grade ang oil quality and efficiency to lubricate overtime compared to miniral ones. another advantage is lesser carbon build-up, dahil nga sa matagal ito magdegrade. DISADVANTAGE, huhu, its price..![]()
if you don't always rev your engine at or near the redline, you don't need to use synthetic oils. sayang sa pera.
I used the regular mineral oil, not semi nor fully synthetic oil. Just make sure every three months or 5000km whichever comes first. Not encountered any problem with the engine performance. Save for the cost also.
15W-40 API-CH/I rated diesel oil.
Shell Rotella T.
Delo 400
Mobil Delvac 1300
Valvoline Blue
Wala pa ako napansin na pinagkaiba using them on my 300D. At the 170k mile mark, I'll change the oil myself using the Rotella. ;) Sarap mag DIY!
Mobil 1 Super Syn. May free bag for every 4 liters. I got a jacket last year.
