    this is really OT now.

the honda riding academy offers inexpensive training (last time it was PhP 500 only). i went there back in the 80s and my girlfriend took the course last year. another option is MRC which is run by Jake Swann (charges a bit more, though).

oh, i hope you put aside some money for decent safety gear. at the very least a SNELL or ECE certified helmet, armored riding jacket, gloves and boots (or high cut shoes that cover your ankle). for these you could check out JT or Motoworld/Action Hobbies.

you might also want to check out motorcycleasia.com and motorcyclephilippines.com.

    good luck and ride safe.

Hello fellow Opel enthusiasts. I used to have an Omega 2.5 V6. I'm selling some spares. (All Brandnew) Irmscher steering wheel, front and rear brakepads and air cleaner element. Let me know if interested.

    This forum is great!

    Paul,

I have an 1999 Opel Vectra CDX station wagon. Everything stock including original "soccer mom white" color.

Sniff sniff... I'm about to have my 1st expensive work done on my car. The radiator sprung a leak and everyone has told me that it has to be replaced. Between thunder+outsidemechanic and casa, turns out the casa is offering cheaper rates. Be that as it may, it will still cost an arm and a leg. There goes my budget for set up.

my car gets services sa GM, Shaw. si jude yung nag-aasikaso sa amin dun. ok naman service normally they get the job done in a day or 2 and, so far, cheaper parts than that quoted from thunder or fronte. this afternoon they sent one of those tow trucks na the car is placed onto the back of the truck so that they can service the radiator. buti na lang may warning system yung vectra or else i would have started the car with the little to no coolant.

pero mahal pa rin paayos. so hold muna ang set up.

pwede ba makahingi ng comments and suggestions
i'm planning to get an astra sana pero i get turned off by a lot of horror stories particularly with the maintenance of the car
is it true that the multi info display and airconditioning always fail?
marami rin nagsasabi na mahirap daw ang pyesa and mahal pa
hope you can further enlighten me thanks!!!

can't speak for the astra but my vectra has been worry free so far... my only expensive repair work is the replacement of the radiator, then again, that's my fault (won't expound on this, sorry).

right now i'm not very happy with the work done by autoworld, shaw. they misattached (according to a recommended mechanic in this forum) the intake manifold of my car and the rubber boots came apart while i was in baguio. thank god, when i called rene, he agreed to go up to baguio to fix my car. i'm going to try his services in the meantime instead of the casa.

i actually saw the boot was folded up where the two tubes meet. the worst part is that i went to the casa yesterday to ask for an explanation and/or solution to the problem, they told me that they had to take my manifold apart again to check the situation and that i would have to wait for the parts to be ordered before they can give me back my car. WTF????!!!! it's a good thing i asked if they had the parts in stock before allowing them to take the car apart. else the car would have been with them for that long. this is my 1st problem with them but i've lost trust already. sorry but the intake boot fitment shouldn't even be an issue in that it's right in f*ck*ng front of the mechanic while he's fitting the manifold... grrrrrr....
