Congrats that your engine didn't throw a valve at 7,200 rpm but I wouldn't drive it sustained at 7,200rpm. SR20DE will sustain running at 7000+ rpms as long as the water pump doesn't experience cavitation too much at near redline rpms.

From my experience, the stock GA16DE engine looses power past 6000rpm. The power curve goes down past 6000rpm so the last few RPMs you gained in the redline might actually make your car slower when you try for a straight line acceleration test. Shifting before your redline (and landing on your max torque point) would give you more speed.

based on experience, it losses power in between 6.9-7.2k rpm, 6-6.9 so far malakas pa nmn ang hatak.. tried it both straight ways and paakyat. so far it did not throw any valves...daily ride ko parin cya until now so far sa ngayon ms malakas ang hatak nya kumpara dati tinangalan ko nang resonator.. medyo maingay nga lang, plan of swapping sr20 bt I find it not suitable in our place.. very minimal long stretch roads and considering road condition(unnoticeable sinkholes)

You might not notice the drop in power if you are just going by "feel". If you can bring your car to a dyno for a session, you can see what I am talking about. I used to drag race my B13 with GA16DE and I can feel the power drop as the engine nears the redline. My B14 with SR20DE eats SiRs for breakfast. Too bad I sold it few years ago.

With the light weight of the B13, the extra power of the SR20 will be felt everywhere, not just in long stretches. While the GA16 is a nice and torquey motor, the SR20 is just brutal in such a small car, even from walking pace.

we havent dynoed is since its very expensive here in our place. only 1 shop does it...we only tried it using a program that can generate graphs using andriod program race chrono ata yn...I am always observant of my car specially when Im driving it.. I understand what you mean I felt it those days nung hindi pa ito properly tuned so far ngayon ok pa nmn but minsan2x lang ako ng rev nang mataas syempre mahal ang gas hehe... On my B14 with SR20DE ... the SR20 was internally stock with 4-1 headers and freeflow exhaust and custom designed muffler. Dyno tuning was done on it's ignition timing and Air/Fuel ratio adjustments. That increased the power from the stock 140hp to around a peak of around 170hp. Another 5hp was gained from water/alcohol injection for a final total of 175hp.

Later I had an electronic speed de-limiter installed as well. This let the car have a maximum speed increase from an artificial limit of 180kph to a VMax of 219kph.

The big potential of SR20 tuning made it a favorite for tuners worldwide.

How much? ... I think the current price of sr20de with m/t would be around P40K installed. As for where... your suking surplus shop and tuner shop can help you. BTW, make sure you have the more recent model SR20DE. Some older SR20DE have a lower max power.

It shouldn't be surprising since the SR20DE is a standard engine... not a rarer performance engine like it's cousin, the SR20VE which can do 200hp stock without turbos or the SR16VE which does 160hp stock.

The SR20 is a huge performance bargain. Low-end torque trumps the B16A and 20V, and high end power isn't too far off. The aluminum block makes it light, and the engine internals are all forged (which makes them freaking strong). We put an SR20 connecting rod beside the Lynx's FS-DE (also 2 liter) con-rod... and the difference in beefiness was immediately evident.

An SR20DE is a motor that you can boost with little worry. But if you want more...

An SR20VE is not quite as powerful as a K20, but it costs a fraction of the price, and makes more power stock than a B16A for similar money. An SR20DET makes less power stock than a 4G63T, but it can be pumped to 400-500 hp on the stock bottom end.

Later editions of the SR20, as found in the Serena QRV-R, even equipped with distributorless electronic ignition, were so encumbered with newer emissions hardware and requirements that they made only 135 hp compared to the 145 hp they put out in the Altima/Sentra and the 155-160 hp they made in the Silvia.

Perhaps what you want is the SR20VET X-Trail, which had both variable valve timing and a turbocharger, but that was ultra-rare.

It would have been underpowered for such a heavy vehicle. The SR20DE's performance is best enjoyed in a small sedan or hatchback.

Thinking outside the box, would it be possible to slap in a SR20VET engine in the Xtrail that we have today (not the current ones) ?

Kinda off-topic...but yes, should be possible...but the engine is rare and expensive, and finding someone familiar enough with the X-Trail's wiring to do it will be difficult. You'll probably be leaving the car with the electrician for a few months to figure out the wiring and get it done.
