February 8th, 2011 06:03 PM #1015Guys, I think this was already asked before but I can't seem to locate the thread.
Just wanted to ask if its totally normal to be able to engaged the transmission from P to R by just pressing the engaged button on the A/T gear lever, even without stepping on the Brake pedals?
I am not able to compare it to other A/T tranmission systems as my only experience with A/T transmission is with my 2005 Altis and my dad's 2005 Starex CRDI....both of which requires for the driver to step on the Brake Pedal first before you can engage P to R.
I was thinking, baka old design lang ng A/T ang ganitong style....Thanks!

normal... ata?!?hehe. ganyan din kasi sa akin.pero for safety, naging reflex ko na ang umapak sa break while engaging the transmission from P to R. para kapag nasa R na, di basta basta aatras ang pajero. although i agree with you yung iba namin kotse kailangan talaga umapak sa break para ma-engage yung transmission, parang may shift lock.

February 8th, 2011 11:00 PM #1017have you ever noticed this problem in your gen 2/ 2.5...
pag morning... (unang start), when you turn the steering wheel to its max. (left or right) you hear a noise coming from the inside,...
has anyone experienced this.
my mechanic check the ff: (but no problem at all)
- steering pump ok.
- a/t fluid ok.
- replace the steering seal ok.
as of now i have no idea kung saan nangagaling yung noise na yun.
