Share ko lang... before tuneup around 8-10 km/l. pero after tuneup (change oil, spark plugs, air/oil/fuel filter) naging 7-8 km/l na lang. ano kaya nangyari?

The brother of my ex-boss used to own a chevy coronet (yata) or 2 of them. The other is for chop chop. Pinagtatawanan siya ng mga driver kasi madumi lagi kotse niya aside from luma. Hindi niya ipinapacarwash (sarili lang at bihira) o ipinapagalaw ang makina kung kanikanino lang. Masmaganda na raw ang madumi kasi nasisira kapag ginalaw.

And you know what? There is some truth in his philosophy. Parand mga doctor na para ng parami ang mga specialist pero parand parami din ng parami mga bobo. Some may just be a little negligent pero may talent kung gagamitin while some others - I really don't know how they became doctors. Same sa mechanico.

When I decided to have my pajero calibrated to improve gas consumption, hindi naman nagyari ang improvement. Maybe because no calibration was needed in the first place. Pero naging hard starting ang pajero ko where for over a year of ownership, 1 click lagi iyan (except for the time when I had problems with my 2SM battery e 3SM pala kailangan ng pajero) where I also replaced the alternator.

Parang yama ang kasabihan ang "DON'T FIX IT IF IT AIN'T BROKE". Pero parang mas tama ang "BREAK THE MECHANIC'S ARM IF HE CAN'T FIX IT". We are living in a world full of incompetent professionals.

Waaaa. Mabigat o mahina na naman hatak ng Pajero ko.

For those who do not know, lahat ng mekaniko na pinatingnan ko puro transmission daw ang problema and cost of repair ranges from 40-80,000. Ng pinaquote ko ang bushing and suspension repairs, inayos ng isang mekaniko at parang gas ang pajero ko - until I decided to have my acceleration cable replaced (pero iba ang loical so binalik ang luma)., 3 times ko na binalikan yung nag galaw ng cable and palala ng palala each time. Yesterday, sa traffic, feel ko talaga na mahina ang hatak at parang may karga pajero ko e magisa lang naman ako nakasakay.

There is little dispute there. But many here posted same cand and year models with wide ranging FC. Bakit ba kasimpleng bagay hindi kaya ayusin ng mga mekaniko. I mean purely mechanical parts lang naman involved dito unlike sa kabayo ng maaring may bloodline na katakawan or what.

Loose compression or something like semi-loose? Driving habits? (I believe I am one of the more "magaan ang paa" type of driver pero my FC is still 5.5kpl city or mainly EDSA lighter traffic hours). Improvement na rin ito from 4.5kpl dati pero mas tama siguro kung 7-8kpl kahit na luma ito lalo na magaan ang paa ko sa pedal. Usually 2000RPM lang ako and very very rare na umabot ako sa 3000RPM. Hindi kaya mas matakaw sa gasolina ang ganun?

Sana may magcreate ng thread(tip) on what to do to improve FC aside from driving habits) alam namin kung ano ang ipapatingin sa mechanico o anu-ano ang tututukan namin.

I think I read or heard somewhere that a gen3 v6 is around 5-7kpl.

lancer EX GT-A:
city/village driving - 6-8 k/L (usually plateaus after 5-10 minutes of driving, then it either would increase or decrease depending on your pedal action on the accelarator/brake)
highest so far -13.1 k/L (from LP to ortigas 6:30AM 20 minutes drive)
ave long distance - 10.5 k/L (from LP to pangasinan with 2 stopovers, including heavy traffic in QC)

my GT-A, from leveriza pasay to commonwealth, 9 k/l. Grabe daig pa yung diesel namin ung fortuner 2.5 G. I can compare d difference. Basta laging mag manual mode lang. Tipid tlga..

you are have 10% more, how you do it ??? please help or please give some tip...

guys just want to share the fuel consumption of my Lancer EX GT-a, im running minor speed of 120 and maximum speed of 180, 13.2 km/l.. im satisfied and it's good for 2.0 liter engine.

hi chng238, that's the best so far. it's like stepping on a egg during acceleration (very conservative) i seldom past the 2.5 RPM in the city. if it goes beyond 2000 RPM i release a little hehe.


but when the speed is needed i don't mind my tachometer

btw my tire pressure is at 32psi - front and 35psi at the rear.

I think i will increase the tire pressure same as your...

But i very happy with my Montero FC, that is very much better than my Ex Madza tribute V6 3.0... that drinker city drive only 5 to 6 Km/liter, and is run on Gas.. i feel the tooth aching everytime when i top up the gas...

TRAVELLED FROM CAVITE TO ILOILO THROUGH (SRNH)STRONG REPUBLIC NAUTICAL HIGHWAY (RORO) ROUTE. TOPPED UP UPON REACHING GUIMBAL, ILOILO.

Just got my GT last Friday night. FC nya since nabili ko s at 9-10kms/l. medyo matipid. question ko lang mga papi is pede ba gamitin sa EX GT ang unleaded Gas? Ive been using Vpower kasi ng Shell coz accdg to my dealer, kelngan daw don 95 octane.

Problema ko rin yung gas ng Pajero ko, 5-6kms/L ako pag city driving pero pag out of town 6-7kms/L lang siya. Its a 2.8L na Field Master. Normal lang ba yan guys?

Brod ganyan yata talga pag Subic mo nabili kasi ung inbang nakausap ko ganun din ang lakas daw sa Fuel, pero may na diskobrihan akong Gas saver jan sa may Comonwelt ave. Pangalan niya si Danny wingkle . malaki ang binaba ng fuel consumption ko. ung dati na pag bumiyahe ako ng 296 km, ay halos emty na ako nung nalagyan ko nun ay halos kalahate ang natitira sa Fuel ko.Tapos Sity Driving ko naman ay 2 to 4 km/L ngayon ay nag 6 to 8 na ako depende din sa trapic siyempre.
Nung una di ako makapaniwala na epiktibo ,pero binigyan niya ako ng asurance na pag di umubra ng 2 wiks sa akin ay babalik niya pera ko at babalik niya ung mga dilagay niya .
