    Dear guys,

I have a 2001 Mitsubishi GSR. Ngayon lumalabas na sa 5 to 6km/l nalang. since this was kasa maintained dinala dun. Ang sabi ni ok naman daw according to the settings based on their computer readings etc. they also said that because the car is getting old lumalakas daw talaga... Dito ako di makapaniwala! What do you think is the problem with the car. I might bring it to rapide nalang.

    Your inputs are highly appreciated.

    Cheers!

    Russel

    Hello Russel,

I am very sorry about your Mitsu casa experience. Anyway, I think your problem can be assessed sa www.mymitsuph.com

Sign in po kayo ang marami dun naka GSR. They might have encountered same problems as well.

    Salamat po!

mas gogoyohin ka ng rapide wehehehe!

when was the last tune-up done? baka bad driving style lang or under-inflated tires? also take into consoderation yung fuel na ginagamit. baka you're not using the recommended RON as per manual?

i'd bring it to a more reputable shop. try mo si speedyfix if you're in the mandaluyong area. i can vouch for migs' service.

Thanks sa mga nag rep. Anyway, As soon as we noticed that it was drinking gasoline pinatune up agad but it was still the same. anyway, the gasoline na gamit ko is usually shell na unleaded lang.

Ah talaga? Manggogoyo rin pala ang mga taga rapide? am in the manila area.

Try cleaning your MAF sensor with some electrical cleaner. While the ECU may report nothing wrong, poor fuel consumption can mean that one or two sensors may be very dirty, causing it to drink too much gas. This is a common problem on MAF-equpped cars like the Sentra and the Lancer.

Or it could be your AT is starting to go south... (I'm assuming your late-model GSR is INVECS) does it still shift smoothly?

tipid mode. i could hit 10km/l.

    highway driving could produce 12km/l

The best I managed was 14km/l.

Try checking if your tires are properly inflated. Then, see if you're carrying unnecessary cargo in your Adventure (nakakadagdag din kasi yun sa konsumo). Also check if you have external accessories that affect your vehicle's aerodynamics, such as roof racks and extended bumpers.

Petron Diesel Max has one of the best mileage readings, while Shell Diesoline has the worst. To extend your fuel mileage, bakit hindi mo subukang mag-biodiesel?

Then, drive normally until your next trip to the gas station. Take note of the kilometer reading on your trip meter, then divide it by how many liters it takes to fill your tank at that moment.

The result will give you a general idea of your average fuel consumption.

I don't have any personal experience with both cars but based on the data from C! magazine the Honda city 1.5 CVT can do 15 km a liter on highway driving while the Lancer GLS can do 14 km a liter on highway driving. Agian this is just the info I saw on C!. I think Mitsu has the promo for the Lancer becasue they are expecting the new model of the Lancer early next year.

malakas sa gas ang lancer. the company has one and it gives only 7 kms on city driving with a/c on all the time. sa highway it varies from 13 to 15kms per lit, a/c on all the time also.

their current and previous engine cant be compared with vvti of toyota and vtec of honda in terms of fuel efficiency.
