July 28th, 2009 11:33 AM #1Guys need help w/ my 4M40 Engine on Pajero '05, still overheating after checking hoses, overhauling radiator, passing bubble pressure test, replacing radiator cap. Over heating on high revs only and water from radiator transferring to the reservoir. hope someone could share a light on this. and any recommmendation for a reliable motorshop aside from casa.
Thank you!

it DOES make a difference sir, a very big difference. having distilled water on the cooling system reduces, if not eliminates rusting of the whole cooling system

i can only think of either a clogged/broken thermostat, rotating but weak fans, or more seriously, a warped head. oh, if its a/t maybe old dirty a/t fluid causing the engine to work harder than usual.
i hope it's not a warped head. how's your coolant and oil look? slimy? coolant smells like oil and oil smells like rust? mahirap daw i-shave ang head ng 4m40 pag nag warp... may ceramic inserts daw kasi.

July 28th, 2009 01:25 PM #10thanks for the replies, im kinda ruling out everything and ryt now all the external issues seems to be ok, it's leading me to have the head opened. any reliable(by experience) Motorshop round QC?? thinking of having it repaired in the CASA seems a horrible expenditure.
as an aside, in the olden days, anyone who does not move 'ala luksa during Holy Week, especially...
