i agree, the front and back views are not something to be proud of. yung side view nya mas ok, and siempre mas improved ang interior. wala na rin ang feature na unique sa strada , and rear vent window (one of the reasons why i bought mine is this feature )

    On sale na sa Thailand

Thailand's pickup truck boom :Mitsubishi launches new Triton after nine years- Nikkei Asian Review

When Mitsubishi introduced the Triton in 2005, the company was in turmoil due to a cancelled tie-up with Germany's Daimler and revelations that vehicle defects had been covered up to avoid recalls. Mitsubishi nearly went out of business, but it was saved by its operations in Thailand and the production of the Triton. In the past nine years 1.26 million Triton pickup trucks have been sold, accounting for nearly 20% of Mitsubishi's global sales.

The new Triton, which went on sale Tuesday in Thailand, costs between 791,000 baht ($24,489) and just more than 1 million baht. The Triton line offers three pickups with different types of engines. The Triton's cabin is also roomier than its predecessor.

Here's what the Montero might look like.

The Strada's new design looks much better as an SUV than a pickup.

Wow, Sir Jut, this one's definitely way better than the Thai design specially the grill / nose part. Hope this design pushes through.

Hopefully a black honeycomb grille. A chrome honeycomb grille only looks good in a black hiphop music video.

You're right, mas kamukha niya yung sa MU-X.

This is what first came into my mind kasi when I saw that grille:

There's a new 2.4L diesel in Thailand. It's unknown though if we'll be getting that engine here - I'm willing to bet that the 4D56 will carry on since Filipinos prefer tried and tested ancient engines than modern ones. And most likely the 4D56 is still cheaper.

Nice attempt on the Grillework. it makes the Strada look more bearable... hehehe

the new 2.4 MIVEC diesel engine is the 4N15 from a new engine series 4N1. I hope our version won't need much calibration despite our Euro 2 fuels.

BTW, kutob ko something is cooking up for next month for the Strada...

    2015 Mitsubishi Triton / Strada

Providing tractive effort in the 2015 Triton is Mitsubishi's all-new 4N15 turbo diesel engine that features an aluminum block and MIVEC (variable valve timing). This new 2.5-liter engine features a compression ratio of 15.5:1 and a peak combustion pressure of 200 Mpa. Rated at Euro-4 emissions compliant, the 4N15 generates a healthy 181 horsepower at 3,500 rpm, and more importantly, 430 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm. This is mated to a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission. Other markets though will receive the carryover 2.5-liter 4D56 (perhaps including the Philippine market until the Euro-4 shift in 2016). Improved off-road capability is assured thanks to the Easy Select 4WD system along with Active Skid and Traction Control or ASTC.

Olats naman, di yung MIVEC ang kinabit sa bagong Strada. Inaabangan ko pa naman sana yan. Boo!
