    Example:

    ASX 4X4 with a turbocharger & a suspension kit. The suspension kit drops the ride height of the ASX down to sedan levels with improved handling. The turbo bumps the power to over 220hp.

    Net result: ASX AWD "Ralliart"

    A truely rare bird among rare birds.

    Cost:
    Car = P1.5M
    Turbo = P200K
    Suspension kit = P50K
    Aftermarket 18" Wheels/Tires = P50K
    ===============
    Project Total = P1.8M

    And just for comparison: Lancer EX Ralliart = P2.3M
    Mas mura nga. Ako kahit yung turbo (w/intercooler) & rims upgrade lang ok na.

    3000k or 4300k (di ko maalala between the 2) na all weather sana yung e iinstall kaso naubos stock nung papakabitan ko last stock na nya yung nilalagay sa fog light ng montero kaya i opted the 6000k...pinakita nya sakin yung HID na ininstall nya sa montero..kulay yellow yung ini- emit na light, hindi ba masakit sa mata yun like the usual yellow halogen fog lights ( ex denji or piaa)?

    ^ CVT talaga ang biggest problem sa project na yan sir.

    Now, kung may 4wd version na M/t, nako..time for me to show the money.

    True... the cvt is the weak link. But even an ASX 4x2 M/T with turbocharger/suspension/wheels would still be a great project car.

    I'd rather do this to the FWD MT ASX. For a number of reasons:

    1. The CVT is a real power-killer, especially from a dead stop. If it detects too much torque going to the box, it pulls timing, causing the engine to bog.

    2. The AWD system is just extra weight. You don't have the fancy limited slip differentials that the Ralliart has, that causes the car to go into a neutral stance midcorner while on-throttle.

    3. You can buy a performance clutch for the MT if you burn the stock one out. The CVT is a bit more complex. You'll need a transmission cooler, possibly an upgraded torque converter... and there's not much guarantee that this will cut it for high performance. (of course, if you drive gently from a dead stop, this won't be such a big problem)

    4. The money saved against the AWD version could go to other necessary things, like a front LSD, brakes or other performance things.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    Mga parekoy..kmusta na ang ASX nyo?...so far wala bang problem? Natapos ko na knina ang 1000km.. at tomorrow dalhin ko na sa service center for 1st PMS...ask ko lang kung mag kano pay ninyo?... di kasi ako binigyan ng voucher ng 500 discount dito sa Peak motors.... ang sabi bibigyan daw ako doon na sa counter... kyo? magkano binayaran ninyo sa discounted price?

    About Ziebert.... Ok ba yung Diamond Gloss? eto raw ang wet look nila... 2 weks pa lang ang asx ko pero gusto ko ma-preserve ang kulay at glossy ng car ko... 4 hrs lang daw ang duration ng detailling at the price og Php 7,300... sa palagay ninyo worthed o may iba pang place na mas maganda?.... Thanks mga parekoy.

    Parekoy, ang problema lang sa Ziebart Diamond gloss e hindi mo daw pwede i shampoo at wax yung kotse mo.

    Labo 'no?

    Thanks.... Yun nga ang sabi sa akin.... di daw pwede i-shampoo at wax... pero may nagsabi na pwde yung auto polish na Pearl Glow Spray na gamitin every wash.. Sabagay..kung maintained naman yung glossy kahit di shampoo ok lang menos sa maintenance then re-application every 6 months kung na-abuso ang car pero kung alaga naman.. pwede na rin yearly... Ang di ko lang alam...after ng Diamond Gloss na yan... di kaya mawala o di na gaanong mapansin yung pagka metallic... wala pa kasi akong nakikitang malapitan meron man puro mga old car na di metallic ang paint.

    The CVT or the belt of the CVT is not the power killer.

    The power-killer in an automatic transmission is the torque converter "lock-up in progress signal" coming from transmission control module (TCM).
    As long as the lock-up in progress signal is not cleared, the engine would not respond or delays the response to the foot-command of the driver who is unaware of how the system works.

    So ang mga auto-tranny na may lock-up device/gear ang torque converter ay damay po dyan.

    Bro, natry mo ba yung polymer sealant?yun yung pina apply ko sa paint last time...until now ok pa din gloss nung color ng ASX ko..meron na din sigurong 3 weeks after the application.

    LOL

    Naintriga kasi ako sa "if it detects too much torque" as if the torque value is being measured. And if found too much?, "it pulls timing, causing the engine to bog". Bago ko lang kasi nabasa.

    I only know that there is a torque detector but for negative/positive torque detection. Positive torque if it is coming from the engine. Negative if the car is... for example: going downhill. If the torque is negative, the TCM gives signal then the ECM may initiate engine braking.

    I'm not intimately familiar with the Mitsubishi specs... I'm just describing what we've observed.

    If that's what's doing it... guess it's similar... try to launch the car and it bogs. The CVT isn't really great for a performance build. Though as long as you're not drag-racing, it's not a big deal.

    The dual clutch system of the Ralliart is something else. You can't "burn out" with it, either... but response is so fast that it can out-drag much more powerful cars from a dead stop.

    Mga sir, after putting some thought into it, parang mas sulit parin gawing project ang ASX na AWD CVT compared sa FWD na M/T. You lose some power and modding potential due to CVT, pero I think the AWD system is to nice to pass up on. AWD + CVT + speedlab power mods seems interesting since it something new, at least for me. Since the ASX shares the same engine and tranny with the Lancer EX, fair naman siguro sabihin na the FWD Manual version could easily get around 190whp, while the CVT lancer could be modded to come around 180whp(as per speedlab dyno). I'm no expert, but who knows what the AWD system could do to these figures?:devil:

    Kakatapos ko lang magpa-pms last wed sa peak motors... di daw pwde ang mineral oil dapat fully synthetic kasi yun daw talaga ang ginagamit sa Lancer EX..... Yung keyless entry pina modified ko.... dati pag unlock mo lahat ng door unlock... pero now yung driver seat lang nag-uunlock... kaya mas safety... tapos yung alarm na dapat 10 sec delay na default now 6 sec na lang.... Pag dating ng Coastal Road binarurot ko na husto hehehe 135km/h hehehe ayos na ayos saklit lang. hehehehe. solved talaga ako sa engine nito.

    A K&N drop-in filter and UNICHIP upgrade will get you 12 to 15 peak HP more with a smoother power curve at the midrange where a dip in power happens in the 4B11 engine.

    ... the devil in the details. :evil:
