    Default turning down a request

sinabi ko rin na hiyang hiya talaga ako sa pagturn down ng request nya tapos first time pa nyang humingi ng favor. sinabi naman nya na naiintindihan nya ako, a request is just a request and its not always na a request will be granted.

i think you handled it very well. kudos.

kung nagtanim ng sama ng loob yan at hindi niya naintindihan ang kalagyan mo, maybe he doesn't deserve your friendship.

he already put you in a tough spot by basically asking you to put your good reputation at work on the line to recommend (no, force) employment for someone you don't even know. pano kung walang kwenta o magnanakaw pala yung pinasok mo? pangalan mo yung sira dun...

i think you handled the situation quite well...

another option but not so practical is giving the said applicant some cash allowance to provide him/her some allotment while looking for a job lets say 1 months pay (but for sure ibubulsa na ng govt official yun heheh)

dami nang situation na ganun na nangyari sa akin like sa firefighters dito sa municipality namin ang hirap before kumuha ng fire safety certificate kesyo you need to have a number of fire extinguishers then bago ang tag etc etc in short hahanapan ka nila ng butas; what i did i went to the firestation personally befriended the chief, cost me less than 1k (brought some canned goods few calendars and the regular giveaway shirts) pag abot ko sabay sabi yan ha magkaibigan na tayo! pag may kailangan ako itatawag ko sayo ha hehehe e di ayus smooth sailing na my certificate is delivered to me annualy no inspections of whatsoever

ive done the same with the local municipal police here so isang tawag ko lang sometimes text nandito na kaagad sila if ever i need assistance specially pag may accidents ang delivery trucks ko...
ang kapalit? may times na medyo malaki ang hinihingi but none that i remembered exceeded 5k sometimes pupunta rin chief nila dito telling me bday daw or some occasion ng family or friend nya etc etc. i just give him a bottle of fundador or whatever cheap wine i have yun lang happy na sya
and its quite a small investment to pay for your convenience and security sobrang bilis talaga nila rumesponde pag nadinig boses ko sa fone i can even get my police clearance non appearance hehe, sobrang asikaso din nila when i need them give and take sabi nga nila. tsaka iba ang pinoy when it comes to the two words "pakikisama" and "utang na loob"

i know may part dito na mali pero wala kang magagawa e we are in the philippines :P
its either makisama ka at maging hindi katalo or paginitan ka

    peace

boybi ok na yun ginawa mo, big favor na din yun ginawa mo and treat them, e yun naman ang totoo na alang kayong vacancy, well siguro kung kakilala mo talaga yun ipapasok mo sa trabaho, you could recommend him sa iba mong kaibigan na nangangalaingan ng tao.

pasok ako sa inyo boybi tapos decline me din tapos treat me sa dinner, hehehe
