The goverment knows EDSA can only hold 1,500 buses but yet allowed 6,000 or more to run. And yet they keep scratching their heads on how to ease traffic... stupid is as stupid does.

There are a lot choke points in Edsa were 6 lanes disappear to two, like the part in buendia and then the cubao underpass entrance.

Is there something that the mmda can do about this? Sa buendia kasi its the overpass pillars thats causing the bottleneck. It took 1 lane

the only way that this EDSA problem will be solved is the buses talaga. sila lang ang problema.

the EDSA buses profiteering problem kasi is still reminiscent of the old Las Vegas setup eh, ang dami-dami players kasi walang regulation. so mga organized crime from Chicago, New York, Miami etc. kanya-kanya kita. and then nagkaron balancing effect, of course the killings of families na na nagbenefit duon pero look at what Vegas now. parang dalawang malaking kumpanya na lang nagko-kontrol dun. and there is order. the same is true with macao, it's Stanley Ho vs. the Vegas Casinos. two controllers parang 2-party system ng govts.

dito sa EDSA bus problem tingin ko talaga dapat magkarun ng balancing effect, and since it's mostly anarchy, baka nga yun mga buses niya eh controlled ng iba't ibang sindikato and so ang gulo-gulo. dapat magkarun ng power struggle, yun 2 pinakamalakas at powerful ang mag-prevail.

imagine mali pala yun 3,500 buses na sinabi ko earlier, 6,000 buses pala ang umiikot sa EDSA. ngaun. so halos short yun 420M per month na umiikot na pera sa EDSA. almost double siguro, lagay na lang na'tin sa P700M per month. or that's Php 8.4B anually.

putsa 2 power powers at 4B each, not bad. eh sa pasahe lang yun. these companies can also earn if they produce their own buses. ang mura kaya ng King Long Bus, ang dami neto so Macau, shuttle eto sa Casinos eh. so why bother manufacturing our own.

so yun na lang, yan ang makasolve dyan. magkarun ng power play. of course, there will be killings, pero pahirap naman sila sa mga mamayan at motorista so we can just turn a blind eye. pag nalinis na, then we support the top 2 survivors. and therefore there will be order

    ---

btw, mayroon nga ako kakilala apo na sa tuhod yan ng isang malaking bus company dito sa'tin, since 70's pa ata yun lolo sa bus business. they have buses in edsa and the buses plying dyan sa sta mesa ba yun

ewan siguro one of these days, baka sabihin. but I have this feeling na magkakarun din ng karma etong mga ito.

This type of intersection will improve the flow of traffic at EDSA:

Good luck evicting the big buildings standing at those spots at some places. One is a People Power shrine, another is a government building. And yet another is a powerful TV station...

    If only we could...

Edit... Underground pala... Still, the problem is the basement parking and foundations in those areas... Lots of stuff to get in the way of the depots.

What would work out is simply a proper queueing and dispatch system. Simply to match the number of buses at each stop with the number of passengers... Which minimizes the stationary time of each bus and speeds up traffic flow.
