A new MMDA directive banning buses and other vehicles from using flyovers and underpasses along EDSA turns into a horrendous two-kilometer stretch of bumper-to-bumper traffic from EDSA Roosevelt up to EDSA Quezon Avenue in Quezon City on Monday.

Wishful thinking nga. Daming MMDA enforcers standing like pylons/cones at the flyover/underpass entrances, directing the buses up. Let's hope that they stay that way since before, the enforcers position themselves AFTER the flyover/underpass to catch and make kotong-kotong the bus drivers who already went off the yellow lanes. Tignan din natin anong effect mamayang uwian at pag late night na, usually the time when buses break all laws at will.

sinasadya kasi nila yan eh yun lalo patagal sa ilalim ng flyover para magtagal. We should support the banning of buses sa flyovers/underpass. The smooth flow from guadalupe to Santolan ibig sabhin LNG the ban worked. Tago kse yun sa Ortigas and crossing flyovers, kaya dun sila nag-sabotage ng traffic. At Dahil na din may intersection pa dito. They should implement the u turn scheme tulad ng sa baba ng east ave or UN ave flyovers to ensure movement sa ibaba.

The stop light is their friend, remove that kikilos yan coz wala na sila alibi pa.

bakit ba hinde magkarun ng power play dyan sa ownership ng buses, yun tipong 1 or 2 companies ang may-ari ng buses sa EDSA. parang may kinausap ang gobyerno 1 or 2 na lang na kumpanya. nakakarinde eh dami-dami nila, rule of the mob.

sabi sa news kumikita daw ng P1000 per driver kakakuha ng pasahero sa boundary. P1000 x 3500 buses = P3,500,000 / day ang umiikot sa bus drivers. sa driver pa lang eh magkano boundary ng operator, say lagay na natin sa P3000 per bus per day + yan P1000 ni driver.

so P4000 / bus / day x 3500 buses (number of buses plying EDSA accdg. to MMDA) = 14,000,000.00 / day x 30 days = 420M per month ang pera na umiikot sa EDSA bus business pa lang.

siguro naman yan 420M per month is decent enough for a major corporation to take over. say 2 corporations, tig 210M sila. ok pa din.

para wala ng anarchy, and the government will only talk to two bus corporations.

i really like the idea and especially the non traffic at edsa from santolan to makati going home. kaya lang naman nag traffic from north ave to cubao kasi yung mga bus halos lahat ng lane kinuha bago mag flyover. kaya tuloy mga private cars na pwede sa ibabaw ipit tuloy tuwing bago mag flyover.

So far based on my route, traffic flow is still better. Yes bumabagal as we approach some flyovers/underpasses but it's clear as you pass those lined up buses.

kasalanan nyo kasi ni @uls yan eh. lagi kayo nag-speculate sa oil, ang gusto nyo tumaas ang oil.

pag tumaas ang oil, tataas ang pamasahe proportionally. what the public doesn't know eh ang increase ng pamasahe in proportional to to rising oil prices, eh mas lalo kumikita ang bus operators, so ngaun tingin ko kahit 1/3 puno ang bus lalarga yan eh

take for example an aircon bus, ano ba minimum ngaun? 15.00 ba? say 15.00 x ilan sakay ng bus, 40 = P600 minimum na kita nila sa isang puno. tapos diesel say from P37 pesos naging P40.00. so a 3.00 increase. tapos lobby sila, lugi daw sila, yun 15.00 maging 17.00 for a P2.00 hike. 2x4 = 80.00 increase wow, minimum per 7 kilometers. say 7km/liter ang diesel bus


kaya ganyan ka-lucrative ang bus operation eh. noon kasi less than P20.00 lang ang fuel like in the 90's, there were less buses in EDSA. pansin ko pag lalo tumataas oil, lalo dumadami bus. which is not logical di'ba kasi dapat mag-bawas pag tumataas ang oil, coz to become more efficient.

eh pano, tinataas din ang price ng fare. it's even more beneficial for them na lalo pa sana itaas ang oil, so that citizens can't afford anymore to bring cars and ride buses. therefore, more customers.

eto ang dahilan kaya minabuti ko na makatira sa condo near my place of work. coz even if i drive a car, andyan pa din ang buses kasi lucrative nga eh, kahit 1/3 puno lang larga na. and they saturate edsa.

. I won't be part of that man-made rat race na kokotongan ako everyday ng populist bus drivers and profiteering bus operators. and also sacrificing my productivity and sanity of wasting so much time on a useless road of dumb people.
