for example, magkarun ng stripped down hyundai genesis coupe or veloster or toyota 86 na walang driver and passenger side airbags, bibili ba kayo ng ganito for cost-cutting purposes?

No way, sugal ko na yung extra charge since buhay ko naman yung binabayaran dun.
If the car has four-point or five-point seat belts... why not?
If you're properly seated, with properly fastened and latched four-point belts, you won't need an airbag. Racing cars don't have airbags simply because they're useless if the driver is properly buckled in.

Maganda lang cuz you can change to a aftermarket steering wheel. But since everyone is now safety concious and we don't't want our face to be part of the steering wheel...
The effect on price with the removal of standard airbags (driver and passenger) is very minimal. Probably just 30-40K off only at most (my own rough estimate).
If wiith proper harness, sure.
Kapag nabunggo naman ako at 200kph++ head on sobrang liit nalang ng chances ko mabuhay, eh.
Ive been driving cars without airbags for years. Nasa pagmamaneho mo yan.
Maayos ka nga magmaneho but how you be sure na yung ibang motorist ganun din.Originally Posted by Mguy

Airbags are there to help but i would pay for ABS any day over airbags. Having no airbags won't be as a deal breaker for me as compared to having no ABS.
why not? hindi ka naman makikipagkarera sa kalye ng balic-balic o quirino hi-way novaliches.
I would buy it and a stripped version would be modified for track day use. Airbags can be dangerous too. Research accidents which involves drivers of shorter than the 5'8" average. Suffering rib injuries and in some cases being paralyzed because of sitting so close to the steering wheel. Women are at most risk with improper driving position.
Uh... the fact that cars are REQUIRED by LAW in the United States to have an airbag sensor that automatically deactivates the front passenger airbag if the front passenger is small indicates that it's less a matter of improper use and more a matter of the airbag is fricking dangerous for lighter and smaller passengers.
This is also why children are not allowed in the front seat in the US.
Airbags are designed for a specific weight and height of passenger. If you are too big, it does nothing. If you are too small, it will kill you. And these are only supplementary. They do nothing if you're not wearing your seatbelt.
Racing cars have no airbags because they're not needed. If the driver is strapped in properly, with no movement of the body possible, they are much safer than if they were wearing loose belts and had airbags.
