I saw his post at sulit.com.ph and met him at Kapitolyo. When I got there, my eyes almost filled with tears with what I saw - 201 and 124 parts that are almost in brand spankin' new condition!!! I was just looking for a hood ornament and ended up getting a whole grill because of his crazy low price! I highly recommend him, he really knows what he's doing, pati pagbaklas ng parts ang ingat nila gawin cos walang basag yun mga clips and locks considering these are old plastic parts. I was surprised to learn that he supplies a known big MB shop in QC. And they sell the parts at 3x his cost ( I know this from personal experience). Any one interested can reach him at 0932.6288688, oh his name is Karl.

Next week I'll be back for more goodies! ganda ng pasok ng 2011 ko...haha

is it a shop with proper signage or just a house? not too familiar with the place but plan to drop by soon. need a grill and hood ornament. possibly some interior and exterior trimmings too.

the shop's basically a separate garage, no signage.

From Charlie's burgers go straight down, left at the first corner then straight ahead, after the first guard turn right (going downhill), then left. Just follow the bend and when you see the first street to you right find parking na. his garage is on your left side. But you have to call him first cos he only goes there by appointment.

He has a complete set of W201 doors and grill. I think I saw an avantgarde grill pa eh...it's best to call him up 0922.628.8688 (karl). I might be there again this Sat, he has orig front speakers that am thinking of getting.

text me up if you're going 0922.862.3787, by the way i'm jon.

hi guys, the inner door sidings on my car has warped pretty bad because the leather has shrunk. any suggestions how to get this fixed or is it better (easier?) to buy surplus sidings nalang?

some people have mentioned that there are some shops that would lay fiberglass on the inner side of the sidings to force it back to shape, and then just have it reupholstered after it hardens but im not sure how sturdy this is going to be especially when the leather again shrinks. saka brittle na yung wood sidings mismo eh.

    car updates
Please bear with me, this is a bit long...

Since my last post I've done some more tinkering with the car on my own (DIY) and through the help of pro's:
    SHOP WORK:
    -Cleaned all brakes
-Cleaned aircon drain beneath the wiper - this was the culprit for the wet carpets! water was spilling inside the car due to blocked drainage.
-Replaced valve cover gasket, fuel injector hoses, VC gasket and nozzle hose.
-Replaced shift stick linkage, lower control arm kits, shock mounting, right ball joint.
-Replaced serpentine belt, water pump, expansion tank, overhauled radiator.
-Had a compression test done, 185-190 average on all 5-cylinders!
-Bought new tires (Dunlop -205/60/15) 4pcs. Camber & Alignment.
-Bought new battery (Dyna Power 3SMF).
-Replaced rear coil spring spacers, lower control arm bushings, multi-link struts.
-Tranny oil change - replaced tranny filter and gasket.
    -Replaced radio

    DIY:
    -Replaced grille & cowl
    -Replaced busted dash lights
-Cleaned speedo cluster (Tach and outside temp gauge not working...anyone selling?)
-Cleaned all glass windows and windshield (Elevo does work! but you have to do it every 3 weeks and it does damage side mirrors! So, anyone selling driver's side mirror?)
    -Cleaned interior a bit.
    - Fixed sunvisor vanity mirror light (driver's side)...pax side sunvisor need a new clip.

    Trusted shops:
GBP - look for Gerry Pascual
Santo Carlos - Mang Lino (I love their oil change machine!)

And finally, I was able to take my car to the highways over the weekend! I had a good reading on fuel consumption:
    CITY: 8.5-8.9km/l
    AVE SPEED: 60kph
    ROUTE: QC-Manila, Makati usual route

    HI-WAY: 15km/l
    AVE SPEED: 80-120kph
    ROUTE: Clark-QC

The difference in consumption is very surprising...efficiency almost doubled.

Hi-way handling is superb...doing 125kph and I could feel that the engine could definitely give more. Mejo alalay lang ako kasi mejo may konting ingay yun front left wheel...wiggles a bit at 125kph. Seems it might need to be replaced.

I noticed in your post that you changed your RH ball joint and not the LH side... If I remember correctly you have to replace both sides regardless of the condition of the other side. This may account for your noise on the left front wheel...

Good to hear your car's doing great!! What has become of your planned road trip last summer???

Thanks for the input docgorio...my mechanic said the same thing. I might replace the left ball joint over the weekend.

The roadtrip however has been derailed. Naga became nada...
Hopefully mabyahe ko pa rin pero baka Batangas or Zambales na lang.

Air filter pa pala, need to replace it na rin...kinapos na ng budget kaya pinabugahan ko na lng ng hangin. I also need to find a hose for the air scoop, wala na kasi hose when i bought it so hot air na lng ng engine nahihigop...Fuel consumption might improve if i fix the scoop and hose and change the air filter. baka maka-16km/ltr pa! haha

Look at it this way... At least when you travel to Naga next year it's with full confidence that the car will take you there and back with nary a worry...

Just keep restoring the itsy bits in the coming months... After all that it will take another decade at least before they start giving way again...

Major investment on the car, huh? Nothing wrong there on the assumption the car is for keeps or at the least would be with you for the next 5-7 years. Hope you could attend one of the club's meets.....

*docgorio definitely ball joint, took it out today in the rain and biglang lumangitngit yun ball joint. might bring it to Rona on Tue.

*Benzmizer well, I could proudly say it's one of the wisest investments i've made, and the circumstances that lead me to finding and buying this car is almost incomprehensible...quite a long story. And 2 weeks after buying it, someone actually wanted to buy it for more than double of what i paid for! No BS!

My boy just keeps on surprising me...latest surprise was the 15km/l fuel consumption on hi-ways. It's a real beast on the open roads...at 80kph it's merely purring, at 100kph its warming up, at 125kph it's wanting more...too bad i had to stop at 125 since nag-wiggle na yun steering (probly due to the ball joint?). Sayang, sira yun tachometer, so i didn't know exactly how many RPM that was, i'd estimate it at prob'ly around 3.5-3.75k RPM.

I've invested around 71k as of date including repairs, new stuff and regular maintenance. It's all worth it. I take care of him, he takes care of me.

just wanna update my log for Bruno - my boy now has a name.

    BAD NEWS
I had the aircon cleaned a month ago, the whole thing cost me around 8k (labor, exp valve-local, thermostat switch-local, drier-local, R134 freon) I even had to replace the blower motor, luckily I found a good one. Bwisit lang yun shop kasi nadaya ako sa parts. I had it done at CDC Phils inC shop in V. Luna cos it was near the office and they "seem" to know MBs, they even had an MB logo on their signboard! When I brought the car for an estimate 3k lang daw labor nila with freon charging na, they even explained how intricate the process is kasi kelangan pa tanggalin yun wiper assembly. So I had it done the following day, then kelangan daw palitan yun ibang parts and they offered me their stocks...Bottomline is, I ended up paying them 6.9k for the parts and labor. I only learned about their oooverpriced parts when i had a chance to pass by MBK in cubao - the drier, exp valve and even the freon were sooo overpriced by around 300-400%. I should've only paid around 5k for everything...well, charge to experience.

    A BIT OF GOOD NEWS
Took him to Tagaytay 2 weeks ago with my girl and my niece. He took Tagyatay's uphill easily, purring all the way up I didn't even had to put the gear in D3. Going home 120kph was easy, again i felt a wiggle at 125kph, went as far as 130kph but had to slow down because of the wiggle. Fuel consumption was 15.5kpl on average for hi-way.

I had to register Bruno last week (27Oct) in Pasig, smoke emmision test was at .88 of carbon, passing rate was 2.5! I was so proud of my boy, even the staff in the testing center was impressed. Kainis lang cos I was not able to finish the registration that day. They had to re-direct me to East ave-main branch cos of the tax exempt status. The following day I went to East ave LTO at 1pm na cos I had a lot of stuff at work...was still able to finish the registration, kaya lang babalik pa ko bukas to get my stickers - naubusan kasi.

If I remember the history of your car correctly, you had your ball joints changed...

When was the last time you had your wheels balanced???
