Nice, bro Larry.
I like the door handle lights, at the same time side repeater.
Is it a custom built? From where?

I've had my CX-5 for 4 months now. Napansin ko lang, when it was new, acceleration from 0 was just so- so. But it's much smoother now after break-in. FC is really nice. averaging <9.5km/l at 80% city driving with moderate traffic. pure highway gets me around 13km/l. handling, braking power, all are excellent. but coming from a revo, i find the visibility is much less, esp with the side mirrors.
Nice *larry, daming aftermarket upgrades. Curious lang, ano yung black na nasa hood? Imo nakatulong yun para hindi mag-fade out yung front nya lalo pag nasa malayo. Parang tumaas yung front nya.

That's a deflector attached to the hood.
I have the same experience. My CX-5 has traveled 800+ kilometers and the acceleration from idle has definitely improved. It feels light and is fun to drive. FC is currently at 9.7 liters/100 kilometers for city driving. I've driven a Revo too and agree that visibility is poorer. But I think that's the case for most of the cars in this class.
I've never had a CR-V, Revo lang. Pero nakasakay na ako sa lumang CR-V and the nice thing about Honda is they really give you more cubbyholes vs Mazda. Overall drive... well, I test drove several cars when I was looking to replace our old Revo (like the Santa Fe, Tucson, etc) But for some reason I found myself smiling after driving the CX-5.
I also test drove my cousin's CX5 and it is good. And you're all correct that visibility is limited coming from Xtrail. Small things that I noticed are:
1. No central lock button. You need to press the lock itself to lock all the doors.
2. Seats are a little hard compared with Xtrail
3. Rear legroom is a little better compared with Xtrail
4. The passenger seat doesn't seem to have good thigh support making it uncomfortable to stretch your legs.
5. 6 speakers lacks treble for me. My Xtrail sounded better even with 4 speakers.
6. Suspension is good. I prefer it more than Xtrail CVT but the 1st gen Xtrail is still the best. Nissan screwed up the suspension of Xtrail CVT.
7. I like the white colors of the dashboard. Pleasant to the eyes at night.
8. Acceleration and power is not worth mentioning but if it's fuel efficient, then it makes up the lack of power.
9. Again, visibility is limited and the side mirrors are small compared to Xtrail.
10. NVH is good in city driving. Very pleasant and quiet to drive. Don't know in highways yet.
11. Cabin materials are also good. Better than the new CRV which is all hard plastics.
12. Cubby holes are limited, again coming from Xtrail hehe. But no compact SUV can beat Xtrail with the amount of cubby holes anyway.
I would highly recommend CX5 but with the leather seats. The cloth seats needs some work on comfort. Maybe putting seat covers can help a bit. But I also recommend test driving the new CRV just to be sure. I haven't test drove CRV to comment on the small details. Maybe somebody here can make a comparison.
another comparison win by Mazda's CX-5 in one of Europe's most respectable Car magazine... autoexpress...
kaya lang nag-dadamot ang Mazda Philippines in offering this excellent ride with the SKYACTIV-D ....
So its a lost for both consumer and potential business for the company....

Honda CR-V vs rivals
28 Nov, 2012 10:30am2 .
The all-new Honda CR-V faces a wave of brilliant SUVs, so can it hold its own? We test it against its rivals from Mazda and Hyundai
Evolution is the only way to survive in the wild, so the new Honda CR-V has been refined rather than overhauled for its fourth generation. The off-roader market has expanded significantly since the last CR-V arrived in 2007, with a host of new rivals hitting showrooms. But with five million global SUV sales, Honda has real 4x4 pedigree.
This new model is more practical than ever. Engine and gearbox tweaks bring useful efficiency gains, while new kit makes the CR-V feel the equal of its modern rivals. The predicted best seller is the four-wheel-drive, 2.2-litre diesel in top-of-the-range EX trim, which we test here.
Facing the Honda is the new Hyundai Santa Fe. It cruised to victory over seven-seat rivals in our previous test, so how will it fare against smaller opposition like the Mazda CX-5? Our current class leader won its place at the top thanks to brilliant SkyActiv fuel-saving technology and agile handling. The flagship auto model will be tough to beat in this test.
Verdict
Each of these cars brings something different to the table, and some buyers will prefer the huge practicality of the CR-V over the dynamic flair of the Mazda or off-road ability of the Hyundai. Yet in the final reckoning, it was the model with the greatest range of talents that took top spot.
The Mazda CX-5 is not only the best car to drive in this test, it’s also the cheapest and most efficient. And it appeals to the heart and the head with its sharp styling and low running costs.
Choosing between the Santa Fe and CR-V was harder, although the more affordable Hyundai edges second place with its five-year warranty and powerful engine. A locking diff and hill descent control ensure it’s the best off-road choice, too.
So the Honda finishes last in this test, despite having some superbly thought-out, practical touches in its smart interior. In the end, its relatively high price is difficult to justify.
Bakit naman sila magdadamot? What business will avoid additional sales? I'm sure they know the diesel variant will sell a lot here but they're probably not confident the quality of our diesel will work on their engine. I'm also afraid to know how much the diesel will cost if they bring it here...
that's the problem, i don't think they can see any (Business case) profit/possible Sales of the CX-5 diesel here... my suspect its probably due to the high cost of the unit. imagine this CUV w/ SkyActiv-G already at Php1.45M, the Diesel is around U$2,000 more.....that makes it Php1.5M++ at the very least....and its bare spec (no leather, no sunroof, only 17").... and the other known issue is SkyActiv-D in Japan is in a very tight supply, with high demand fm. JPN/Europe/Aus/NZ....and next year in North America... we don't see that improving anytime soon.... now being a small market that we are....we are the last priority to get this.... so its not about diesel fuel, we have available Euro4 at some select gas pumps.... pinag-dadamutan lang talaga tayo - period!
