If that is the final dimensions. Then compared to the Mazda 3 It is shorter by Length 400mm, and width by 100mm. The mazda2 comes out as taller by 50mm. Wheelbase is shorter by 130mm.

But given that as I mentioned the long hood is more of a functional choice because of the Skyactiv engine, then the shortening of 400mm most likely means they shortened just the rear "boot space" of the hatch further or else the rear passenger area would mean it would be left more for children or people less than 5'2" in height.

If the 400mm will only be taken from the rear, that means they have the same hood length, which I doubt.

Looks like a major facelift rather than an all new model... Huge upgrade in terms of the interior though...

It sure looks to have bigger shoulder space between the front seats based on the interior pic. It even has space for cupholders beside the handbrake.
