I own a firsthand 2.0 Gas Manual Revo GLX 2004, gamit ang stock rims and tires, yun tires naka isang palit na whole set dati 3 years ago, pero yun rims hnd pa.
I'm planning to upsize my rims/tires, and here are my reasons:
1. Better looks. Twuing nkakakita ako ng ibang revo sa streets na customized tires, lagi bigger, at parang it looks better that way. I think revo stock tires are too small in proportion sa katawan, or is it just me?
2. Better gearing ratio. Nkadrive na ako ng maraming ibang rides, kahit diesel pa, pero feel ko, revo had a very low gear size even on 5th gear, so I think bigger tire size will keep rpms lower at high speed. Will the difference be significant or noticable?
Kung mguupsize nga ako, hindi ko pa rin sure:
1. If I should go a bit wider (~215mm) than stock tire width (195mm). I heard wider tires provide better turns in corners at parang mas maganda nga tignan, pero sabi nila it is harder on the steering wheel, bad on wet roads, and some effect on fuel consumption. Are these true?
2. How big my tires should be at best (rim diameter + sidewall height) without rubbing against the fender. Ok lang kung yun speedometer and odometer hindi na maging accurate after the upsize. Should I go for r16 or r17?
3. How low should be the tire profile. Assuming 215mm width, is 215/60 r16 or 215/50 r17 good? Other recommended size/config?
Lastly, kung decided na ako sa rim and tire size then:
1. What brand of rims should I go for? Ok daw ang rota rims, tibay at affordable. I also see a lot of concept one rims which have nice designs, affordable ba at matibay or hanggang porma lng?
2. What brand of tires should I go for? Yokohama, Bridgestone or Goodyear?
Sorry ang daming tanong, ang dami kong hindi alam eh, at hirap rin mgdecide eh. Thanks guys!
