Their website is quite outdated. I recently bought a set of 17x7.5" Bolognia rims in yamaha black directly at their factory in Bicutan (inside the industrial complex beside SM Bicutan and Azure Urban Residences). Cost me 24.5K Php in total. My initial choices such as the the Blitz Sport, Torque and WTC are currently not in production.

The person who assisted me with my purchase is an area sales manager. He told me that the only sellable models locally are the Grid series, SS10 and the lookalike models of popular Japanese wheels. The rest of the models are usually sent abroad and they don't make a production run unless certain regions ask for new stock. You can expect around 60 to 70% of the models in their 2015 wheel catalogue to be out of stock.

newbie question: Is Rota safe to use? How is it compared to genuine rims from Rays, Vossen and momo? How can Rota be priced so low compared to those (aside from import taxes of course)? How safe are copy rims?

How about compared to stock aluminum rims say from Nissan and Honda?

I have 17" stock aluminum rims (nissan sylphy, 5H PCD114) and I'm curious if going Rota would be an upgrade or a downgrade. Thanks in advance.

Been using Rota's for 4yrs and never had any issues with it. Have run them 195kph at star toll and felt stable naman.

    1. It should be safe to use but you'll have to mind potholes if you install with them low profile tires, more so if you're on genuine rims.

    2. Genuine rims are made from high-quality light weight materials. These genuine rims are always lighter than copies. What made them more expensive is the use of higher quality materials and the process of making them (forged, 3-piece, etc) plus the design RND that is part of the manufactuing process. Rota only copies whatever the design is, using cheaper materials.

    3. Stock alloy wheels are usually heavier than Rotas. You will feel a slight gain in performance(handling, stability, acceleration, etc) of your car if you UPGRADE to even ROTAs because they are lighter and wider(usually). Lighter set of wheels are good because it decreases unsprung weight. Lightest Rota is ROKU then TITAN.

    4. Last but not the least is aesthetics. Your car will be prettier and more unique with aftermarket wheels.

    Hth.
