In my case, Php46,000 andito na sa Iloilo, siguro, mga 38,000-40,000 yung bli ng cousin ko sa blumentrit. Other than that bumili pa sya nang fuel pump and air cleaner.

Problema ko ngayon yung registration kasi wala pa ang papeles ng engine na galin sa LTO (Quezon ba yan or what), end of the month pa daw makukuha.

marami pala ang fitting job na kailangan kung gas to diesel engine change. a mechanic here said its drop-fit from kr2 to mazda r2. advised me also that its better to change the kr2 engine if kelangan nang i-overhaul, mas quieter daw ang mazda than kia. kumusta na ang sporty during roadtest sir?

    thanks,
i heard some if not most Cebuano sporty owners changed their engines to mazda r2, try to browse buy-n-sell sights baka masuerte ka may mga sporty owners disposing their already tuned-up sporty.
remember, most of this as-is sportys have been sitting without engine start in korea for some time before being shipped here.
i got mine at 180k as-is, with papers na, so no worries.

*here are the things i changed in my as-is sporty:
    -timing belt
-all water jackets(kinalawang na maybe due to long stand-by in korea)
-all of the cooling system hoses(most if not all are already brittle resulting to leaks - resulting to overheat)
    -master break system
    -break pads/shoes
(did this one after another if i did this one time, mas naka mura cguro dahil isang baklas lang sa engine area hehe

some things you should look out for when buying (good if you have a mechanic background or bring a mechanic friend):
    *engine
    *water pump
    *alternator
    *fan(kung naka-lock na sya)
*usok, as long as black/dark wag lang white
    *walang noise sa drivetrain
    *suspension coils
    *power steering
    *go for manual Xmission

    - if your going to cebu or cdo, do a change-oil/greasing/washing(with engine wash) and drive around a little bit to see its performance before the road-trip home.

bottom line, this is a very nice and reliable suv, been all around zampen with this baby currently running with an ave. of 12Km/Li (with aircon-on). still needs to do an injector tuneup/adjustment?? - might give a little to its fuel efficiency. good luck

ok naman yung takbo nya, pro hindi ko pa ma labas-labas sa bahay kasi hindi ko pa ma register (change engine). perfect yung mounting ng engine, may kaunting modification lang sa steering shaft at sa lalagyan ng battery since you need a bigger battery if the engine is diesel, yung ma busisi yung sa transmission nya. Talagang hiniwa yung sahig malapit sa tranny just to adapt the new transmission.

Hopefully I can register before this month will end.

Kalabas lang ng talyer kahapon. These are the new images I have:

i also want to know about the drivetrain noise. mine was particulary noisy when on 3rd gear. regular greasing helped some, but you can still notice noise during acceleration when the rpm is <1500.

1st gen sportages in Zamboanga ranges from 200k-270k. mine is a 2.0l diesel Kr2 non-turbo engine, averages 12km/liter with aircon. planning on doing the fuel injector tuneup, i hope it improves the fc.

Good Day everyone, I have already register my Sportage last first week of May, as I have observe the new engine, medyo ma tipid siya compare sa original gasoline engine. I think the fuel consumption is about 1li per 12km. In my observation, its really worth na I have change the engine considering the price gap between diesel and the gasoline now a days. Here in Iloilo, diesel price 48.xx per liter while the gasoline premium fuel is at 61.xx per liter.

Btw, I would like to ask about the sportage spoiler, saan ba maka bili niyan? Thanks

if your planning on getting a second hand 1st gen sportage 2.0l diesel esp those that came from korea, here are some notes:
cons - those sporty's have not been used or even started for several years say 3-5 years.
*no cooling system water circulation - watch out for all rubber hose wear esp the one at the
waterpump- need to change them all coz they are the primary cause of overheating.
*the temperature sensor does not work very well in the philippines and is a cause of overheating,
have it cancelled and lock the propeller.
*wear of all belts due to underuse. change all belts especially the timing belt.
    *change all lubricants and grease.
*head gasket wear maybe due to underuse -cause of overheating. at the first instance of overheat, have the head gasket changed.
*Not so good aircon system. i'm planning on cancelling/bypassing the heater coils to lessen/eliminate the heat into the dashboard. last con to tackle hehe
    pros -
    *cheap for its class
*no major problems after all concerns for the cons have been addressed. (minor problems are
regular maintenance, tire change, battery life, break pads and the like i mean hehe)
    *good fuel consumption
*fast and powerful small diesel 2.0 engine
*engine parts availabilty - also compatible with mazda r2
    *power everything.

    i have one and i love it:loveshower:

    TIA

Thank you bro, still saving for it, by the way, the fuel consumption is 1 li:12 km pag city driving, 1:13 to 1:14 naman if sa highway.

nakabili na ako ng sportage short surplus american express model 1999 4WD, Mazda RT engine, turbo diesel intercooler. so far so good. cool engine and tranny. body and chassis in good condition except for some minor concern which needs servicing (eg: power side mirror, fuel lid cable). as of now am on familiarization and minor maintenance stage considering this unit is mothballed for quite sometime in Korea. it's safer to have it on top condition first before rolling to the field.

and papano ba paganahin yung 4wd niya?
