Thermostat is very important for the engine to maintain the ideal engine temperature, sa pabago-bago na temperature ng Engine apektado ung performance thats why lahat na sasakyan ngyn may thermostat.

Mostly for Japan and Korean design vehicles pag dinala d2 satin nag-ooverheat talaga pag tagal due to the high temperature design Thermostat parang napupundi ung Thermostat na design sa malalamig na lugar pag dating d2 sa Tropical country. kya dapat palitan sya ng Low Temp Thermostat which is madali mag-open from 65C to 75C fully open na, ung design sa Nagyeyelo na mga bansa is 80C to 90C pa ang kailangan pra mag fully open ung Thermostat which also pra din sa Heater nila sa loob sasakyan.

Hindi ako bilib sa Machanic na nagsasabi na hndi na kylangan ng Thermostat d2 satin kc daw mainit na d2 satin, pra sakin mas malamig at maginhawa ang makina pag may Thermostat lalo na sa mga Automatic kylangan may Thermostat pra sa cooling system nung ATF.

Agree with the coldness ng aircon. Because of reliability issue ko sa diesel engine nya, pinalitan ko ng Mazda RF yung engine. Engine problems ko nawala then (3 years ago) although I think now, start na lumabas sakit na overheat nung Mazda diesel engine.

Anyone experienced overheating ng diesel engine sa sportage nila? Share naman your experience. Thanks.

What the Kia tech did with mine was to locked-fix the fan. Try to check (with the engine off ) and turn the fan with your hand, kapag umikot, ibig sabihin hindi naka lock ito at nakadesign pa rin ang fan para sa malalamig na bansa tulad ng korea. Kapag naiikot mo kasi sa kamay yung fan, parang nagi-slide lang yung belt at hindi todo yung buga ng hangin nito. hope u get the idea. thanks

Yes! Ganyan rin ginawa ng mechanic sa sportage ko. Ngayun malakas na buga ng hangin.

Good day to all,
Tanong ko lang po kung meron nakaka-alam kung paano i lock-fix and clutch fan.... plan to do it myself in case i might encounter a problem with the clutch fan in the future... BTW, my ride is a 96 sportage 4x4 AT, gasoline .
So far wala pa naman major problem coz regular ang maintenance as recommended by KIA.. at siyempre malaking tulong din ang mga INFO SHARED by other members..

I would like to ask, what is the real year model of sportage grand long body. Turbo intercooler 4 x 4. with abs but it doesnt have airbags. Yong surplus shop that i bought the car says its a 1997 year model, But when i check the specs sa internet hindi siya match. But year 98 to 2000 model match siya, because of the abs. Im confused..

Info to those who knows? im selling my car and i can't seem to figure out the year model...

I have an imported Sporty from Subic. 5-speed manual, Diesel n/a, 4x4. 1st gen short body. May 2nd gen yung kasama ko sa ofc. Long body, turbo diesel, mas malaki at mas mahaba. Mas aggressive-looking with fender flares and side skirt stock. Yung spare tire nya di na nakakabit sa hatch door sa likod. Subic din. Iba pa yung 3rd gen na bago ngayon na CRDi na.

Aircon sobrang lamig. Dati halos walang lamig then nagpa-recharge lang ako ng freon, ok na. Thermostat ko stock pa din. I used to experience overheating. Bumili ako ng "stop-leak" sa banawe, nilagay ko as per instructions sa label, ayun! di na nag-ooverheat.

Nung kakabili ko pa lang, mahina humatak makina. Everything rattles pag pinilit kong ibirit. Tapos ang lakas sa krudo. Mausok pa. Then changed oil, replaced fuel and the 2 oil filters, air filter, ayun! no usok, lumakas hatak and top speed, 15 km/L city driving at parang ayaw maubos nung krudo! (that's with my "galit sa gas at lahat kinakarera" heavy foot driving style). I hope to get even better mileage after injection cleaning, calibration, and a degree in defensive driving lessons.

Sir,Kia sportage is actually 2 generations the first gen models were made starting from 1995-2002 were my sportage car belongs now the 2nd gen started from model 2005-to date which entirely different from the 1st gen the second pic you hav shown

good pm mga sir..when i view this topic medyo parang nagustuhan ko ang sportage. i want an auv/suv kasi na below 200k ang price and sportage lang ung nakita ko na may ganito. medyo mahal pa kasi ung revo, crosswind, etc.
ask ko sir if i buy one, ano po yung mga dapat kong icheck..thanks for the coming inputs..

try to check if ang cylinder head is leaking, yung hndi lumalabas ang tubig kung nkabukas ang water radiator mo at ng rev ka ung mausok, drvetrain kung maingay etc

same question din po ng mga nasa previous posts. Meron po ba kaya d2 sa Manila na makukunan ng 2.0 diesel engine M/T ng Grand Sportage? Meron po kc ako 1st gen sportage na dami na problema ng makina at sobra lakas sa gas, so plano ko palitan na lang.

Kahit po sa Cebu, baka me alam po kayo na shops dun na maayos kausap. Meron naman ako contacts sa Cebu na pwede tumingin e. Baka pwde ko na ipaship na lang sa Manila.

Baka po me idea din kayo kung magkano un engine lang? Thanks!

You could also try in Motor1, halos kalapit din nito and they also have parts for SPortage.

i'm planning to change tires from stock 205/70/r15 to 235/75/r15 A/T or M/T to get more aggressive look. wala ba talagang sabit sa fender o bumper? stock ride height ako, walang lift.

pano ba talaga sabihin yung "sportage"?
para bang "sportaj" o parang "sporteyj"?

para ba syang daihatsu charade na "shareyd" o "sharad"? o promenade na "promeneyd" o "promenad"?

marami naman. ano bang sportage mo? pag diesel, pareho engine ng mazda b2000 series o ng kia besta HW2.2 o ng ford ranger, 2.2L R2. pag gas naman, Mazda 2.0L FE engine tulad sa Ford Telstar/Escort nung araw hanggang Lynx ngayon. Bolt-on lahat kahit buong makina pa. lakas sa gas pero di ka iiwan!

i have a surplus sportage now running for 4 yrs. Hindi ito converted, left hand drive talaga kasi its from korea, left hand drive din doon. Mine is diesel, medyo maingay kasi old diesel engine ito pero ok lng. Napaka tipid sa diesel nito, i got 16k/1L. Maraming problema sa pang ilalim maybe because of lots of factors na rin, maybe its a 1996 model sa korea kaya medyo bibigay na talaga mga parts nito, matagal rin itong naka standby sa junkyards sa korea bago na ship dito sa pinas, hehehe, kaya expect the wear and tear ng parts, so expected na talaga na magbibigay ng sakit ng ulo ito sayo pero kung maayos lahat, il tell you, its so dependable, just like ours, ok na ok na sya, wala na problema. The aircon is super lamig, hindi ka titirik sa baha, 4wd pa ito with low and high, cute small SUV, not too big, not too small.
