5 speed auto is the new tranny. Kasi there was some shifting issues with the 4 speed, hindi daw maganda magselect the gear ang computer. The solution was to upgrade the software. Better yet Kia changed the tranny to 5 speed, not sure if this what we already have here. Since ang alam ko for 2005 Sorento ang 5 speed auto, which is by the way already available on other countries on year 2004.

maganda yung itsura at tindig ng sorento sa daan, it looks bigger and brawnier than the car-based compact SUV's and AUVs, and looks Lexus RX300-butch, which isn't bad at all.

All local Sorento CRDi' matics come with a 5-speed automatic transmission. :D

CRDi EX's are available in the gray market for a not-so-reasonable price of around Php 1.7M.

Just saw the sorento LX manual and it was nice to drive. The engine is crdi turbo. No intercooler. Puwedeng lagyang in the future for more HP. Walang ABS

hi guys....noob lang ako dito and i badly need advice. was thinking of getting a grand vitara until i saw your thread on the sorento.

i dropped by this afternoon sa kia edsa branch and was impressed by the diesel sorento and was already convinced eto na kukunin ko. kaya lang.....pag naglagay daw ako ng alarm, void ang warranty (?!?). sabi ko, bagong model and medyo mainit sa mata and yet di puede alarm? plus syempre dahil bago, ayaw din magbigay discount hehehe....

am now thinking of really settling for the grand vitara because the dealer is offering a big discount plus tuloy ang warranty kahit lagyan ng alarm (sa kanila nga lang)

ano bang payo ang maibibigay nyo? thanks!!

kung maglagay ka ng alarm, hindi naman yung warranty ng buong sasakyan yung mavovoid. yung sa electrical lang. pero ang labo naman nun, baka madaan mo sa sindak yung dealer hehe

weird nga eh...utos daw ng columbian sa kanila. may bad experience na kasi ako nung ala pang alarm yung dati kong kotse, to think 2nd hand pa yun!

hmmm....so electrical lang yun kung sakali? puede na siguro kung yun lang at hindi buong sasakyan (sayang 3 yrs. din yun). i-double check ko na lang sa kanila. parang naaartehan kasi ako sa kanila kaya naisip ko balik na lang uli ako sa orig kong choice (the grand vitara)

if given the choice, would you choose a brand new crdi sorento or a 2nd hand well maintained 4x4 2.8 local pajero with only 18K mileage? Pinsan ko kasi binebenta ang paj niya, american racing pa na worth over 60K! I think this is the 01 model? both would cost the same, more or less
