Thats not a problem, a gasoline engine can use diesel engine oil. For example, a gas 5w-40 vs. 15w-40 diesel, yun 40 same kapal ng oil when heated, the 5 vs. 15 parang same lang naman yun coz hot climate naman tayo, since the w is for cold specifications or winter

Hindi naispecify ng picanto owner what brand or API rating ng diesel oil ang nailagay ng mechanic of kia global. Maybe yung diesel oil na nailagay sa picanto ay hindi compatible sa gasoline engine.

DEALER: Kia Las Pinas (along Zapote Road)
    MODEL: 2012 Sportage CRDi R-eVGT 4x2

    Cost Breakdown:

    Labor Charges 1,300.00
    Clean Brakes 410.71
    Replace Fuel Filter 223.21
    Oil Filter 892.86
    Drain Plug Washer 31.25
    Aircon Cabin Filter 1,343.75
    Brake Cleaner 350.00
    Shop Supplies 412.50
10% Discount on Labor and Parts (420.18)
    12% VAT 545.29

    Sub-Total 5,089.39

    Parts & Engine Oil:

    Jared
    Two (2) 6L of Zic RV 10W-30 Fully-synthetic Oil 2,800.00

    Seiring
    Fuel Filter 1,400.00
    Engine Air Filter 500.00

    Sub-Total: 4,700

    TOTAL COST 9,789.39

Could've made some more savings if I didn't opt to change my fuel filter and engine air filter + get my all of my parts from Seiring where the AC filter is 700 and oil filter is 500. But I decided to be cautious and have both replaced kahit na sa 20K kilometers PMS pa dapat. In retrospect, the engine air filter looks it can be used another more or less 5T kms though. So normally, your 10K PMS damage should cost around 6-7K~ petot.

BTW, Kia PH has a 20% promo on PMS for the coming holidays. You should take advantage of it if you're less than 1K~ away from your regular PMS schedule
kumusta naman sir yung service sa Kia LP?
    Dun ko kinuha yung Optima....
Totoo ba na wala na ng 1K PMS at ang una daw ay 7.5k PMS for gasoline cars?

Thank you po sir for your prompt reply
Mahigpit ba ang Kia sa PMS sked na time based? Matagal ko kasi siguro bago abutin ang 7.5K
Yung Santa Fe kasi inaabot ng more than 6 months bago makapag 5K

Am I correct that Zic RV 10W-30 is about Php233 to Php250 per Liter? Since it's API SL rated, can I use it on a Kia Gasoline engine even when it's mentioned in the label that this oil is for diesel engines? Will appreciate a reply, thanks.

API SL pang gasoline naman na API rating sir. Almost same price lang with Kixx RV 40 lang nga ung operating temp viscosity.

You have this other post, so I would assume it was not from another Kia dealer?

Yes I know but the label specifies it is for diesel engines. A few post back in this thread someone had an unpleasant experience of having his picanto filled with a 15W-40 oil. I think its a Zic SD5000 or something and if correct this is API CH-4/SJ rated. SJ being for gasoline.
