Sana nga there'll be changes for the Pinoy version. I like it to be A/T with Diesel Engine.
Tumapat lang siya sa presyo ng Toyota Innova 2.5V Dsl A/T at Isuzu Sportivo A/T,
dito na ako sa Carens. Sure is a head- turner!

aww damn. mas mababa pa pala compared to the previous gen. but nonetheless, it still looks great.
not sure with the "" on my ID. lol! Pero not my requirement. Its a typical requirement of starting families. Mas comfortable kasi sakyan ang mga ganito compared to SUVs. AND mas friendly sa mga elderly na nahihirapan ng umakyat ng mataas na oto

Hi everyone, am not sure if some you read the thread i opened. Anyway, I was looking for an MPV..
I have 4 toddlers, which the 3 goes to to school every morning.
Weekends, my work requires me to bring 2 big makeup traincases like a mini-studio and a Makeup chair similar to director's chair.
Some guys on that thread recommend that I look into Carens and Carnival.
I saw a Carens the other night and mukhang maliit? Kanina naman sa Banawe I saw a Carnival and yeah it looks spacious.
My 1st choice was Grand Livina. Majority suggests Innova.
What do you think?
You can't go wrong with the Carnival
And sure your kids will enjoy..
Looks can be deceiving! I own a 2007 Carens and my sister owns a Grand Livina. Both have lower profile, car like ika nga, compared with the innova. Space wise, the Carens has more space which is also flexible as the 2row can be moved forward and backward compared with the Livina and Innova. The third row folds flat making more space compared with Innova which folds to the side, occupying the side spaces. Comfort-wise, the Carens and Livina have car comfort compared to Innova.
As you said, you saw a Carens and your perception is that it is small. When the new Carens comes out, better have a closer look and book a test drive.
I also own the new Sportage. Looks like it is big, but being a CUV, Cross-over Utiliy Vehicle, it's in between a car and an SUV and MVP. Our relatives swear that our old Carens is way bigger than my new Sportage, interior space-wise.
Whatever vehicle you choose, better have a better look and test drive. That's how the Carens won me over the Xtrail and CRV in 2007.
The Carnival is all in a different league. If I had the money in 2007, we would have gotten the Carnival as it already has a proven track record (Carnival is also the Sedona, depending on the production year). It is THE Perfect family car! In a way, when we bought the Carens, it was a gamble as it was the first time it was introduced here but little did I know, it was ahead of its time, technology wise. It already has a VGT Diesel engine (made by Bosch) producing 140 horsepower with its 2.0 liter crdi engine compared with 109hp of Innova's 2.5liter D4D engine. Old school believers think a bigger engine produces more power...well, not anymore!
Maybe you can wait another year for the new Carnival.
Carnival has spacious interior (LWB variant). I have seen it myself when I was canvassing 2 years ago. Malaki na din ang price drop since then. Only bad feedback I read was its FC is not good for a diesel. Plus a new one model should be out anytime but should be more expensive.

Wala pa daw confirmation kung 5 or 7 seats. Sana 7 at a good price![]()
Nakausap ko yung kaibigan ko sa columbian, sabi niya may automatic daw na ilalabas dito na carens pero di pa sure kung gas or diesel ang una ilalabas. Sure ako gas ang una ilalabas dito... Like yung sorento and sportage, gas ang una nilabas
