Its true. Nag change ako from XCS to Blaze.
MY first PMS 7.5K was totally free... I received a free coupon mailed from Kia Philippines which I presented to my Kia Casa.
Just got a very slightly used 2012 Kia Rio 1.4EX A/T two weeks ago (with under 1,000 kms). For the past two weeks, i have averaged only 7 kms/liter (city driving, moderate traffic, always watching rpms not exceeding 2k rpm, no excessive idling time). My former rides were: 2010 Rio 1.4EX A/T (old body, but upgraded version/tiger nose grille), also averaging 7kms/liter and a few years back, 2008 Carens CRDi A/T also averaging 7 kms/liter, and even way back, 1997 Pregio van diesel M/T, averaging 7 kms/liter (all city driving fc's).
Puro "RULE OF 7's" yata ang mga Kia vehicles (at least in my experience).... any type, any engine... 7kms/liter (city).
Hehehe... no offense to other Rio owners... napansin ko lang talaga. I thought the new Rio will have better fuel economy... I'm so impressed with the ECO coach light/mode. Well, I guess I'm not surprised anymore... compared to my older Rio, despite having CVVT technology, this new one does have a bigger and heavier body which negates any fuel savings from the "newer" engine. I hope FC's will improve past 1,000 to 2,000 kms mileage... planning to have a PMS and change oil since i've just gone over 1,000 kms now. On a brighter note, I can sometimes achieve 8-9 kms/liter as long as its light traffic and on Sundays (no traffic), can do 9-11 kms/liter on my EX. I'm pretty sure it would hit 15's on the highway. Dito yata bumabawi ang mga Rio natin now compared to old Rios.. it is more efficient in highway or long driving.
Sana man lang with a 1.4 engine, it would do 9-10 km/liter city driving like my wife's 2010 Honda City 1.3S A/T which achieves that (9-10 kms/liter) and my other car, 2010 Mits. Lancer EX GTA A/T which despite having 2.0 liter mivec engine, it can do 7.5-8.5 kms/liter (all approximately the same driving style/route/traffic conditions). I'm still a loyal Kia owner though, as I have owned a lot of Kia's already before.Mas mura talaga parts and maintenance (as long as hindi sa casa/dealer at sa Banawe ka bibili ng parts).

Question po for all you guys who own the 2012 kia rio.. My wife and I are planning to get a car, I met a nice SA who gave us a good quote sa Kia Rio 1.2 LX MT.. She also gave us a good quote on the Kia Picanto.. Now I'm having a hard time on deciding.. The price difference is not that significant din naman.. I need a car na tipid sa fuel.. Picanto since its a compact car, it will definitely give me good FC pero I'm still considering the kia rio.. is this something that you can recommend? ano po ang good and bad side ng kia rio 1.2 lX.. maraming salamat po in advance sa mga sasagot.
Filled up my tank.
I got 8.95km/l (286.5kms/32.029lts)
Mixed driving apx 70city/30hw.

Did my first pms today. Cost me around 3.9k. All materials were from kia sucat. 1.4AT HB
Sabi daw ng planta, magpatakbo ng 100-120kms pag pwede dahil daw titipid ito in the long run.
Yun may mga problema sa FC, try niyo ibirit birit rio niyo, baka in the long run maging matipid.

Gradual increase and decrease lang.

Been thinking of getting VKool pero wala pang budget.
You know guys i've been wondering on a scenario like this
Are we running on a hotter spark plug than needed? because in S. Korea the weather is always cold all year.
So it makes sense that they use a hotter spark plug for an easy cold start right?
Maybe they forgot that it's EXTREMELY HOT (means air is less dense and more humid = less oxygen for the engine) here in the Philippines??
So maybe we should use a colder spark plug??
because a hot weather >> increases engine temp = a hot engine will affect the operating temp of our spark plug right?
Thus making the spark plug too hot and might cause the pre-ignition because of lean mixture
so it will advance the timing.
What if the ignition timing is set to advance and got stuck on advance?
So that means we will be running lean right? and get spark knocks?
So the ECU will compensate for this by running rich right?
Could that explain our super high fuel consumption?
Please someone give me an opinion on this thanks!
A thought just came to me, maybe the culprit is the spark plug? because the weather will always be hot (uncontrollable by us)
So! that means the engine will always run hot right? Thus affecting the spark plug operating temp in which it might cause pre-ignition right??
So the ECU will think the ignition timing is advanced so it will make the fuel mixture run rich right??
So by changing our stock spark plug with a colder plug might change everything right?
Because as i recall when i first got the Kia Rio 2012 for the 1st month of consumption i was roughly getting 8 - 8.8 km / L almost 9km/L
But after that i can only reach 6 - 7 km / L which is ridiculous for a 1.4L engine
So what do you guys think of my theory?
