E10 forms sediments in the tank when left unused for too long. These can clog the pump and injectors of GDI cars. If the car is not E10 compatible, the alcohol fumes will also destroy the rubber gaskets in the fuel pump. As ethanol degrades, it loses it's efficacy, lowering the octane of your fuel, which leads to knock.
If you take a long time to use up a tank, get at least 95RON, or even 96 plus.
