Kung sa Avanza to Carens mas lamang ang Carens. I spoke to a guy from Columbia. Walang CRDi model. Base model lang.Pero the good news is sa Sportage na CRDi And Sedona soon. Sorry O.T.

Ok sya sana kaso I don't trust the local Kia dealers here. Di kasing professional ng Toyota or even Hyundai.
Medyo maganda yun kanyang loob at spacious. More for family and ac not good.
The Avanza is a mini-AUV, hence the tinny construction, stiff suspension and flat seats.
The Carens competes with the Opel Zafira, the Mazda5 and the Ford C-Max, all euro-style MPVs, and all much more expensive. At 777k for 2 liters, the Carens is well priced... but I still want a diesel!
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
I've been told that the CRDi Carens will be available in about 3 months.
Saw the black sample at Tiendesitas. Seriously considering selling a kidney and one ball for a CRDi Carens![]()
3rd row knee room looks ok. Won't fit a lot of groceries if the 3rd row seats are in use though. Dash looks good. Heck of a bargain at that price.
medyo may style ng BMW X3 ah.. bandang rear.. im not impressed with the performance of korean cars.![]()
So, which Korean cars have you driven recently? Not impressed with the suspension of the Coupe? The acceleration of the V6 Santa Fe? The torquey 2.5L CRDi engine of the Sorento?Originally Posted by 3sgTe

I think ang Philippine-spec Carens o kahit anong new Korean cars ay ok ang quality which is very true!!!![]()
By that reasoning then it would be safe to assume that Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Volvo, GM, Ford, Dodge, etc. basically all the car makers with the exception of Proton have A/C systems that can't handle Philippine weather because all the manufacturers are based in cold climate areas and Proton is the only one based in Southeast Asia.

Because the Carens is a Euro-format MPV. Just think of it as an inexpensive Grandis, not an overpriced Avanzabakit mas mahal ang CARENS compared to AVANZA?
How many kms does it get to a liter? Don't expect Avanza or Vios figures from the Carens. 'Malakas' is relative. What may be 'malakas' for one is perfectly acceptable to another.Maganda tumakbo ang Carens pero malakas kumain ng gasolina.
+1 on Redorange. These vehicles are also sold in markets whose climate is hotter than the Philippines. Just because the home market has a cooler climate doesn't mean the a/c is crappy.

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
the starex.. 2000 - 2003 models.. prone sa overheat.. weak a/c..
The steering squeals when making turns. acceleration of the santa fe v6 engine is is the same with the all new mitsubishi outlander.. id rather prefer the outlander coz of its fuel economy.
service parts is quite limited..
You can't generalize a whole country's auto industry based on driving one model. If that was the case nobody would be driving a BMW, in the old days before the BMW 2002tii, they were know as BM Trouble You because their cars broke down alot. But look at where they are now in respect to other makers, they are now known as a premium brand. It shows that all car makers have growing pains and improve through the years. As far as comparing the Santa Fe V6 to the Outlander keep in mind that the Hyundai has a 2.7 V6 with 180+/-HP and the Outlander has a 3L V6 with 200HP. Bigger engine with more horsepower will normally give better results in acceleration.
The older Starexes were still using what were basically Mitsubishi diesel engines. Notorious fuel guzzlers, because the body was very heavy and the engine wasn't so powerful. Yet my dad's current Starex CRDi 2.5 AT doesn't drink much more than his 2.5 AT Crosswind... not enough, at least, for him to notice the difference... and the new 2.5 CRDi is a veritable torque-monster.
The AC? No comment yet. It's not bad, at least.
The Kia Rio AC is pretty good... but then, it's pretty small.![]()
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
This is a 2006-2007 model.
So unlike those MB korean-made vans, these Korean cars are better improved than before.
I've ridden with my dad on an Matrix Diesel 1.5 and an Accent Diesel 1.5 during the Manila Motor Show 2006 test drive. Although these cars were small, the A/C was quite good during the hot summer weather (we weren't scorching and sweating like pigs). And on the Matrix Diesel I'm quite impressed. It even accelerates faster than my Crosswind Diesel (and that's a 2.5 liter....although with puny horsepower) and can even reach 140 km/h (if pushed further).
So I may have to use what mazda2 said that although they were sucky years ago (before 2000), they've been improving and are way better than ever before.
The Carens is no exception to this.
