May naka try na ba sa inyong gumamit ng 0W/40 na oil? Yun kasi ang nakalagay sa akin ngayon, RP 0W/40. Naubusan kasi si Speedyfix ng RP 15W/40 so I tried the 0W/40. Ok lang naman daw un sabi ni sir Migs kasi 40 pa din ung weight. Mas mahal nga lang, 800/quartz. Ung 15W/40 nila nasa 600/quartz.

I don't know if it's the oil or because it just had its 100k km PMS or due to the Euro IV diesel, pero grabe, parang naka steriods ung Dmax ko after ng 100k km service.hehe Ang bilis ng acceleration and napaka smooth ng engine.

Ang napalitan lang nila ay bushings sa may leaf spring coz of the squeaking sound.and ung 1 pc of nut and 1 pc of bolt. Ung sa squeaking sa belt area, tighten lang pala. I spent around 17k+. 7200 for the oil and oil filter at Speedyfix and 10k+ sa Isuzu Commonwealth. Ung usual, change fluids, fuel filter, etc.

At 100k kms, buti nalang at wala naman sobrang matinding problemang hinarap ung truck ko, thank God. And hopefully my SCV will still hold. Nasa 50k+ kms kasi siya noong pumalya siya. So ung ipinalit noon, naabot na niya ung 50k kms.

Ang ganda, pati hood scoop, By the way, wala pa ako Dmax, i just want to ask some honest opinion kung matutulungan nyo pa ako, Somebody is selling me 2007 dmax 4x4 LS,85kms mileage but its old model engine, 4jh1 3.00 turbo intercooler for the price of 680k, other one is 2008 model dmax 4x2 new engine and look, 4jj1 engine for the price of 700k,100kms mileage, pls help me to choose.both are fresh, sa engine lang ako nahihirapan mag decide. *dreamgame: Oo nga sir, ang ganda tignan ung ganyang grille. Kaso wala akong mahanap na nagbibenta ng ganyan. Ung hood scoop, sa Europe lang yan nilabas kasi ung kanila, un ung may twin turbo. Malayong mas maganda un kaysa ung andito sa atin.

Regarding ung query. Do you really need a 4x4 or 4x2? 100 kms for the 4JJ1 or 100k? I suppose typo lang yan else, diyan na ako sa 4JJ1. But if not, I will still go with the 4JJ1. Commonrail na ang engine and mas bago even though it has clocked more mileage than its older sibling.

But do your homework properly before buying a 2nd hand unit. Back read lang ng konti and we have already posted some of the pointers when buying a 2nd hand unit.

Like I have said, kung maayos mag alaga ung previous owner nung 4JJ1, I don't see any reason na magkaka problema yan. My truck just had its 100k km checkup. Ang pinalitan lang nila ay bushings and isang nut and isang bolt. The rest, tightening lang. Ang pinaka major na nagawa sa engine ng truck ko ay napalitan na ung timing gear and water pump. Pinalitan nila ung water pump kasi "DAW" ung tumutunog na pinaayos ko noon, isang reason daw un. Then pagka palit, meron padin and after a few days of observation, ung timing gear pala. Buti hindi ung turbo kasi un ung suspect nila. Also the SCV. Ung EGR, papalitan sana but it took more than a yr and di sila magka roon ng stock. Good thing nalilinis pala un kaya pinalinis ko nalang sa Central Diesel. 4k+ lang ang nagastos ko instead of paying 19k+ for a new EGR.

Un lang. Sa ngayon wala akong maramdaman na problem ng truck ko at 100k+ kms. Pero siyempre, it came with a price. Talagang I followed the PMS religiously, very particular ako sa oil na ginagamit, palit ng fuel filter palagi, then I choose the stations where I gas up.

But at that price, which is 700k, mag iipon nalang ako, sir, para brandnew nalang ang bibilhin ko. They can offer financing anyway. Or I will try to shop around for a better 2nd hand car deal kung talaga medyo di kaya ng budget.

What I don't like is you know in dealerships, their prices are so exorbitant so as much as possible, I don't want to buy any accessories from them. But thanks for your input.

Napakaganda talaga ng dating D-max VGS Turbo "hood-scoop".... Tsk tsk tsk, ang hina talaga ng Isuzu Phils. for not bringing that in Philippines, maiinis ka sa ginagawa sa ating Pinoy ng kumpanyang ito.... Pinalitan pa ng hilaw na all-new D-max kuno at itong hilaw na ito ang ibinigay pa sa atin ahahay....

Mas mabuti pa mga products ng Isuzu noong imported pa ang D-max at Alterra from Thailand at hindi gawa dito, dahil noon mas updated mga products.... OK naman ang objective ng Isuzu na provide employment sa Pinas by putting up a manufacturing plant locally, but it should have maintained the same trend of offers and line-up of present models consistent with the Thai-variants, just like what it used to be in the past.

Also sir dmac, 115000kms na ito since 2008 pero ang hatak ramdam na ramdam pa din kahit nga usok sir negative..hehe ung fortuner ni erpat na 2.5L halos same age pero bumubuga ng sobrang usok. Kaya natutukso tuloy ibenta at hintayin ang MU X hehehe. Most probably ilabas dto s atin kahit daw ung 4jj1 tc lng isalpak ipagpapalit nya eh. Hahaha

Pwede ba sir ipakita nyo ang gearing at speed tables nyo for our dmax vs hilux 3.0 at strada 2.5L?
Gusto ko lang pag aralan kung sino mas angat sa bilis pag rektahan, gang ubusan ng rpm.hwhehe..

Pansin ko kasi medyo leaning sa high speed gear ratio ang strada lalo na s final drive nya. Pero duda ako na sa akyatan at may kargang 15cavans of rice sa baguio city, who will drive more like a boss?hahahja

Also the rwar 5 link suspension and 4 wheel disc brake steps it up a notch to other 7 seater suv.. Hopefulle nga lang, gaya ng wish natin dati pa, sana isalpak ung tcx na 177hp hehe.. Its the one that conquered the dakar rally last 2009..hehe

Twins pala ang Dmax natin, sir, kasi pareho tayo ng kulay and same year nabili. Kaso mas lamang ng 15k kms ung sayo.hehe Pero pareho tayo ng observation na ramdam, no, I mean ramdam na ramdam pa din ang hatak and negative din ang usok. All stock pa ung akin sa lagay na yan.

Halos same mileage lang pala tayo sir dmac, we also got our dec 2007, same color pa na impulse blue, we're now clocking 82+++. I also have to agree sa 4jj1, power is ample already to compete with other trucks (though might not win) but heck hinde naman pang karera tlga ang pickup. Main purpose is to haul something or someone, and dun magaling and sulit ang dmax.

Plus i'm very observant sa ibang pick up truck on the road, i always and i mean always see black smoke coming out from the tail pipe ng mga hilux, the new ranger, and strada, but very few sa dmax, i know ours doesn't, kasi pinapa convoy ko ung kaibigan, and i always look on the rear view mirror for sign of black smoke, wala naman (knock on wood).

Concern ko lang sa dmax is ung ground clearance, mababa sya compared sa 3.0 na hilux at sa new ranger. I dunno if dahil lang sa body kaya nag mukhang mataas ung mga aforementioned pero pag side by side, mas mataas tlga yung side mirror .

Will changing tires from 245 to 265 have any disadvanatge/s? Like rubbing issues, or bibilis masira kung ano man ang pwedeng masira pag nag increase ako ng tire size.

Also sir, iba nagawa ng nitto 265,70,16 na terra grappler tire sa porma ng aking dmax.hahaha

Tumangkad sya at lalong gumanda handling..hehe kita ko din ung impulse blue nyo sir . Pag upod na aat palitin n tires myo sir, i suggest u replace 265,70,16..just my opinion.hehe pero stock size pewede pa din naman tlaga.hehe mas mura pa.

Next plan ko palitan s kanya ay ironman nitrogas shock absorber kasi leaking na ung reae.pero kaya p naman. May time pa pag ipunan.hehe..

In my case (lang naman), not impressed with those looks - the very reason why i don't like the Chevy Trailblazer as it has almost the same striking semblance as the all-new MU-X, or vice versa..... i know they share the body and chassis except the front some of of rear lobes of the body design..... The 8-cross member ladder frame chassis came from Isuzu Motors as original since the beginning that they shared the same engine (old D-max or Holden Colorado, old Trooper and Jackaroo, and old and present Duramax 6.6-litre diesel that they used for their American Chevy's and GMC ---- to include also at some point in time or perhaps at present on selected few Hummers, the engine on the other variants of Hummer). It is only now that for its 3.0 litre and below diesels, mga VM Motori Italia na ang mga engines ng GMC-Chevy. The rest, Isuzu pa rin ang mga engines although the rights of production is exclusively held by GMC hehe (mautak! )

Hopefully nga lang, gaya ng wish natin dati pa, sana isalpak ung tcx na 177hp hehe.

Yes, nanalo yung dating "hood-scoop" D-max with the previous 4-cylinder 4JJ1-TCX engine bumped to 200 hp with 500 Nm of torque, where the latter is distributed throughout the entire length of the powerband, kaya ubod ng haba kahit hindi ganyan kalakasan compared sa mga kalaban nitong modified V6. Sabi ni Garland, ang daming untapped power and torque ng D-max from stock power that they only needed very minor engine mod to tap outright 500 Nm of torque.... Halos stock lang din mga undercarriage ng D-max na ito ng i-compete nila Garland ito in its maiden Dakar Rally voyage in 2009..... The last mod nitong "hood-scoop" D-max sa Paris-Dakar Rally in 2011 ay 252 hp yata with a whopping 630 Nm torque, where the latest figures was also passed on to the all-new D-max Garland for 2013 yata.... Na-aksidente sila Garland at Suzuki sa sand dunes noong 2011 kaya wala sila ng 2012 sa event....

Yes, noong 2009 1st -placer Diesel UTE (UTE for utility) ang D-max "hood-scoop" sa very competitive T1/T2 category kung saan hari ang mga highly modded VW Touareg. Makikita mo na kahit 500 Nm lang ang torque nito noon compared sa mga V6 modified, it chugged the hills at thinnest air and hottest desert climate that it even pulled-out Hummer in sand dunes hehe ;)

Hay, reality check - mahinang tunay ang Isuzu Philippines natin at sayang hindi binigay itong D-max na ito noon pa tsk tsk tsk....

Heto pala yung sa akin blue D-max at 85,000 km palang odo ---- palaging madumi yan hehe at pinambubundok ko din kahit hindi 4 times 4 hehe (4x4). Naka-Bilstein HD ako (front Trooper shocks at likod D-max 4JJ1-TCX shocks). Maganda lalo na kung kargahan kahit 3 motor pa sa likod. Naka-115,000 km ka na pala hehe. Tatagal at tatagal pa yan kahit pa paabutin mo ng 400,000 km and more

Sulit naman mga yang standard 4JJ1-TC engine at malakas lalo na sa akyatan, matipid pati kahit panay hataw.... Umaabot naman ng 170 kph yan at mabilis mag-accelerate kahit wastegate turbo lang ;)
