most probably its tokico gas, unless they changed na the origs to fluid. all d-maxs' that we changed shocks has gas as origs.

mine was acquired may20 2004 and its still not flexiride equipped. maybe thats why its still the fluid type. wish it was gas since i read their better

i read in another old thread here at tsikot that KYB gas-a-just is a good performer and very affordable. can you recommend a store that sell original KYB shocks at affordable prices.

and also a shop/mechanix who can install them. if the front shocks went bad at 35000kms, the rear ones can be next anytime soon. will follow up my warranty claimm on monday.

    thank you

ride of the units which came from thailand were bumpy. so isuzu sanctioned tiger to develop leaf springs to give a better ride. tiger is a local company that manufactures leaf springs. when isuzu approved the spring set developed by tiger. the tagged it flexiride. fyi, tiger developed leaf spring sets for both dmax and alterras.

im kind of grateful this happened while the truck is still under warranty. according to my SA at isuzu pasig, first time daw sa kanila ito.

and it happened now, before i change my tires to BS-A/T 694 265/70/r16. baka kung nag abot old shocks with new tires, ito pa gawin excuse to disqualify my warranty claim.

even though i read and heard upgrading to this tire size actually improves the ride, so my conclusion it lessens load on the shocks and springs

the d-max units that we have changed shocks were also the first batch or the 7leaf config not the flex ride. IMHO you check what shocks they will change if gas type na it will ride better than the KYB's and they are bigger too than the KYB, which means more gas and oil inside which is better and its softer too. bigger tires means more unsprung weight, it will be harder for the suspension components.

ok will ask details from SA, this afternoon daw may balita from planta if approved na warranty claim ko. if so sa thu or friday arrival ng parts sa isuzu pasig, will ask them details about the shocks. sana nga gas type.

btw, why did the other dmaxs' change their shocks? and to what kind of shock-absorbers did your dmax switch to? my choice is a better performing type or brand (and not too expensive). do not want to change the height or stance of my dmax. ok na sya as is, stock. can you give a suggestion. ok daw yun KYB gas-a-just.

thanks, im corrected about the bigger tires, already seen dmaxs' with 265-70-r16 tires and they look stock (near exact looking fit like the 245's) but more porma kaya talagang plano ko pakabit ng ganito tires.

they changed their shocks to improve the ride and handling, changed to OME. If you plan to change to KYB's stick to your stock gas shocks na lang its totally a waste of money. KYB and stock shocks ng d-max are just the same. tokico yata ang stock isang company lang ata sila ng KYB.

cardo- as for the sound naka kabit na kami dito ng 8" na solo sub on about 2 d-maxs' na and some 8" compvr, under the seats, just have to add spacer under the seat stand para kasya box. sealed enclosure lang so that smaller. one unit has 3 way DLS Iridiums and 8" solo, ok na ok ang sound, changed the deck to pioneer 7650 amp na rockford forgot what model. but most 2 way lang na DLS IR.

quicksie-sa d-max lang to ha, sa frontier kasya sa likod ng seat back sub box, unlike sa d-max and ranger walang space sa likod ng seat back. sa d-max dapat below the seats sa rear.

flexiride or flex ride is the softer suspension setup offered by isuzu on their vehicles since dec.2004 i think. it has less "tagtag" feeling. but i think it sacrifices some payload capacity in the dmax.

sa ride comfort noticable daw difference between old and newer dmaxs'

    ARB,

Thanks for the tip! Kasya pala eights under the seat. May shop po kayo? May tanong pa sana ako sa Alpine HU -ipod setup hehehe

Hey guys, ano bang magandang setup sa d-max? sound upgrade? or wheels and tires?

I checked some 20 inch blings and OMG! An mahal pala ng goma. 15-16K isa! And low profile sya, nakakatakot. Ricey ba pag nag 16's chrome mags then Mud tires? Parang feeling 4x4 yun 4x2 ko :D hehehe I'm also thinking there will be so much noise from those mean mud tires at highway cruising. Also, sabi ng shop masmatibay at masmatagal madegrade yun rubber ng M/T's

By the way, our d-max already has the flex-ride. although i could'nt spot the difference with the previous nonflexy dmax's. I test drove an 04 blue d-max when we were looking to buy one. our agent says, reduced payload for the new flexy ride dmax's.

quicksie, bili ka ng utility box para sa tools hehehe. I got one since the tools that I kept inside were noisy and bulky. also yun itsy bitsy stock car jack had to be replaced with a bigger more heavy duty type. keeping it inside occupied alot of leg space. then you have other things like rope, towing cable, extra car fluids, cargo covers for the things you load at the back etc.

guys, kung magpapalagay ako ng subwoofer box under the seats ano yun mounting depth dapat ng subs? thanks

    darn it

this adds to my increasing dissatisfaction with isuzu phils and its dealers.

arb, sending you a PM inquiring about labor and parts for replacing dmax shock absorbers

    thanks
