Hello Isuzu fans. Salamat.

    Sir,

i did have the same concern before as i used to compare mine with my uncle's LS pickup (exactly same model and year)...i noticed na mas pino talaga ang takbo ng sa kanya, as a result, mas tahimik din. Although ganon na talaga yung pickup ko from the time we bought, i still looked for ways to try to lessen engine noise. i started with valve tappets, down to nozzle cleaning and pump calibration to no avail.

i even thought of replacing the gears as it could be a culprit to but they said mauuna pa mawasak ang engine mo before those give in. try mo ren sa petron lagi mag fuel up...could be psychological, but i noticed na mas tumahimik somehow. hehehe.

so i guess if you have made sure your injection pump is in good working condition with it's original settings and you do proper PMS...you should be ok.

I check mo yung Diesel Helpdesk thread.

    Hi again,

looks like you already know what the problem is...maybe changing hoses would solve it specially if you're still using the original ones...changed to adjustable clamps on mine a long time ago since hindi na nga talaga firm yung mga luma.

ok naman kase ang idle ng sakin...especially after nagpacalibrate about 3 to 4 years ago. kay denso naman ako at banawe. sadyang mas maingay lang nga talaga ito compared to some other isuzu pickups i've seen, but definitely not the noisiest around.

yung smoke naman...mine has the typical white smoke that you see after a cold start and would go away once it reached normal working temp. again, common naman po ata ito sa lahat ng isuzu as i have observed. mine never puffed black smoke so far even under load.

installing the oil catch also added a lot of benefits.

sir, after you fix your problem with your idle, why don't you try putting on insulation/deading material under your hood? i think the 4x2's did not come with any. it should help suppress the engine noise.

i came across gendi in marikina before when i was looking for shops to do the calibration for me...my friend djerms says they do good work and are very much experienced especially with trucks and buses.

baka naman po average price ang binigay sayo and they would still diagnose it if you decide to have your pickup serviced by them. but then again, i don't know them or how they work that much.

try nyo nalang po ang bethan or denso to be sure as people here in tsikot have already tried their service. they complete sets of manuals and original parts din so you can't go wrong with any of them.

    hi redwave,

were those quotations referring to the same services and parts to be done/replaced? medyo mababa nga talaga yung sa GENDI and i am in doubt if they'd be doing the same and using the same parts. =) i think that's how we should be comparing shops. usually po kase hindi naman doble ang price differences if exactly the same ang gagawin. though ang central diesel, parang casa ren maningil yan. =)
