Syempre! Ikaw na maging salesman e di "no brainer" agad yan - the less knowledge the customer gets the more sales commisions the s/a makes hahaha!

Can someone confirm bakit ang description ng engine ng MU-X is 4JK1-TC (Hi) with 136hp and 280nm of torque?

Checked wikipedia and here are the only valid engines:

The 4JK1-TC is a 2.5 L (2,499 cc), 95.4 mm bore, 87.4 mm stroke direct injection 16V diesel engine. It was used in the Isuzu D-Max and Chevrolet Colorado inThailand. Stock power was 116 hp (85 kW) and 280N·m at1800-2200rpm.

The 4JK1-TCX is a 2.5 L (2,499 cc), 95.4 mm bore, 87.4 mm stroke direct injection electronic commonrail 16V diesel engine with compression ratio at 18.1:1. It was used in the Isuzu D-Max in Malaysia. Stock power was 136 ps (100 kW) and 320N·m at 1800-2800rpm.

    Is 4JK1-TC (Hi) = 4JK1-TCX?

But why not use the official name instead?
It's the introduction of the VGS turbocharger that accounts for the difference in power, as mentioned in this Malaysian article:

All-new Isuzu D-MAX | Motor Trader Car News

Besides high-pressure commonrail fuel delivery, the engine has a Variable Geometry System (VGS) turbocharger which boosts output to 136 ps at 3600 rpm with 320 Nm of torque between 1800 rpm and 2800 rpm. Compared to the previous 2.5-litre engine, the increases in power and torque are 17% and 14%, respectively.
Like in other car brands, the 2kd-ftv of Toyota and the 4d56 of Mitsubishi, they'd rather shout out the VGT or VNT as additional acronym besides their brand as a marketing come-on, rather that add a differentiating letter in the engine code that may remain unnoticed. Isuzu's just following a marketing trend, IMO.

chevy sales are the worst specifically sa alabang branch.

the day na nag cocompare kami ng mu-x at tb, pagpasok namin ng chevy ni walang pumansin samin the whole time. bawat isa sa kanila may kausap sa phone (nasa loob pa nga ng units yung iba), nakikinig ng music, nakikipag usap sa kapwa staff. sa lahat ng auto showrooms na napuntahan namin, etong chevy lang yung ganyan. though i'm not saying the mu-x is better than the tb, but ang pinareserve na namin ay yung mu-x agad based sa price, specs, and experience sa sales..

dating daw ng unit namin is by 1st week of october, nag pa reserve kami 1st week of september.

Just saw the MU-X displayed in SM Megamall.

Bummer that they displayed the low end model. Front grill is plastic instead of chrome.

I prefer the interior of the Fortuner displayed in megamall as well.
